This puzzles me. Either things are true or they are not. Either Jesus was who he claimed to be, or he was not. Either we evolved from a pool of slime, or we were created. Either the Bible(Genesis through Revelation) is a book from God, or it is not. By the way, if you read the gospels(Matthew through John), you'll notice that on several occasions Jesus made some very exclusive statements about himself. Of course people will raise the argument that the Bible can't be trusted, that the writings have been corrupted over the centuries. There is much evidence to the contrary that they have been perfectly preserved. Ever heard of the Dead Sea Scrolls? Do a Google search. Do some research. Seek the truth. Don't believe the lies. Either Jesus is who he claimed to be, and he will return soon, or he was a complete deciever, or even a madman. The choice is yours. The biggest reason I believe in the scriptures is the overwhelming evidence presented through fulfilled prophecy. SEEK THE TRUTH!

They say they use philosophical reasoning to conclude that God created the world, not arguments which intelligent design supporters claim can be proven scientifically.

"There's a controversy in the United States because there is a lack of awareness of a thing called philosophy," said Fessio, whose Ignatius Press publishes Benedict's books in English.

"Evangelicals and creationists generally lack it and Catholics have it," he said.

"When you look at the world and see what appears to be order and design, the conclusion that there is a designer is not a scientific conclusion, it's a philosophical one."

Personally, I think that they're spot on, but I think that evangelicals are going to go ape-sh1t over this.

And did not the Romans slaughter Christians long after that? How then can the Roman Catholics call themselves the first church?

I’m not religious and certainly don’t believe in God, Heaven or Hell, for fairly obvious reasons, but for those who do believe, could you answer the following.

Say you live a good honest life as best as possible, repent all of your sins, then die peacefully. God decides that you’re one of the lucky ones, and sends you off to Heaven.

After a while in Heaven, you notice that some of your family (Mum, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, Kids) and lots of your religious friends have been sent to Hell instead. You miss them terribly and decide you’d like to join them in Hell.

Do you think if you asked God to send you to Hell instead, would he grant you a transfer or will you be stuck in Heaven forever without your family and friends?

I've really been into the paranormal as long as I can remember, and recently did some research about a local haunting where I live. I make documentary movies and would like to film a ghost investigation on the location of the sitings. So, what kind of equipment do I need in order to investigate? A tape recorder, obviously a camera, etc.

Come on, if that man-made book is so authoritative, why can't it just produce one authoritative church, why so many 'authoritative' churches? The reason is that since it is man-made, it is wide open to all kinds of man-made interpretations.

I'm conducting a survey to figure out the most common mental state. Please say which one best descrbes you:

Hell: You are always hostile and angry. Your first response is to attack something that threatens you. Or you are filled with a cold pride that puts up a wall between you and other people. Anger

Preta: You always desire to possess something, it can be spiritual or physical, but once you have it you forget about it in pursuit of something else. Greed

Animal: You are very methodical and like to maintain the status quo. If anything threatens to disrupt your routine you become extremely hostile and defensive. Serious

Human: You love to explore new things. Life is a game of "He who has the best toys wins", and you constantly try o improve yourself. Passion

Asura: You are a very intelligent, calculating person. You don't trust someone unless the prove they are trustworthy. You like to win, life is a game and you can't lose. Beneficial Paranoia

They believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, right?

2006-09-04 08:41:47 · 30 answers · asked by zeepogee 3

Are they not supposed to use the word "god" in speech also, like "god knows how long" or whatever.
Also I guess they don't use the expression "Christ!" as an interjection or is that just common enough that they do? Thanks.

It is short, so please read and tell me what you think of the statements made about religion and evolution in it.

If you agree or disagree, please be specific.
What do you agree with?, what do you disagree with?

And most importantly, **WHY**?
