some churches only have "elder/presbyters" many argue that in the new testament the three words bishop, elder and presbyter are the same

Today, a bishop is like an elder who helps supervise several churches. as a practical organizational thing. I think its a slightly different use fo the word than the New testament greek: Bishop or equivolently the Jewish version: Eleder

In the Orthodox or Catholic faiths, Bishops have wider jurisdiction (e.g. Bishop of Harrisburg or Metropolitian of New Jersey).

In the Greek Orthodox Liturgy, we pray for the Metropolitian of New Jersey who is the presiding Hierarch.

If the Metropolitian officiates at the Liturgy, we pray for the Ecumenical Patriarch.

If the Ecumenical Patriarch officiates at the Liturgy, we pray for all Orthodox Hierarchs living and deceased.

Well the word bishop is the same as pastor. They both mean the same thing "over seer of the church" Maybe your demoniation has several meaning for these words. Maybe bishop is the overseer of 2 to or more churches....

It should not make any difference in your church or worship. It meansthat your pastor has attained a certain level in his spiritual walk. He may have more responsibilities in the church's parent orhanization.

1 Timothy 3
1This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

4One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

8Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

when you are a pawn and you make it to the otherside of the chessboard and rather than doing the smart thing and becoming a queen you become a bishop.

Ask your pastor. Every position mentioned in the Bible has a specific purpose.
