They say they use philosophical reasoning to conclude that God created the world, not arguments which intelligent design supporters claim can be proven scientifically.

"There's a controversy in the United States because there is a lack of awareness of a thing called philosophy," said Fessio, whose Ignatius Press publishes Benedict's books in English.

"Evangelicals and creationists generally lack it and Catholics have it," he said.

"When you look at the world and see what appears to be order and design, the conclusion that there is a designer is not a scientific conclusion, it's a philosophical one."

Personally, I think that they're spot on, but I think that evangelicals are going to go ape-sh1t over this.

It can also be religious conclusion when God comes into the heart of the person and they are born again Problem with Catholics is that they think theyre the only true Christian church. They dont have the corner on the market

To see order and conclude there is a designer is not even a philosophical conclusion, it's simply a failure to recognize that order is in the eye of the beholder.

The Catholics have always been more supportive of science even if reluctantly so. I don't think that they want to anger the evangelicals but the evangelicals can get angry if they want - nobody is going to stop them.

You're describing old news. The evangelicals already know the Catholic position. It's been around for many years.

RC acceptance of evolution is not actualy late-breaking news. There's been a gradual acceptance for years now.

This question is too similar to your last question for me to have much to say except to agree with you, and partially agree with the RC Church, again.

Evangelicals go ape about plenty. The world continues to turn.

Because of the Protestant doctrine of the Bible alone as authority the protestants are very closed to philosophical arguments.
And I say that that doctrine is dumbing as well as untrue.

It doesn't matter, since evangelicals are angered just because there are still Roman Catholics alive on the planet.

How can you philosophically prove that god created the world? It's impossible.

I'll make this simple. Catholics are nothing but evil, hypocritical, judgmental, soul sucking malignant growths on society.

Believing in evolution is not conducive to Christianity. It's just ridiculous.
