Come on, if that man-made book is so authoritative, why can't it just produce one authoritative church, why so many 'authoritative' churches? The reason is that since it is man-made, it is wide open to all kinds of man-made interpretations.

1.) The Bible is NOT the only authority.
2.) IF the Bible WERE the only "authority", which version would you follow?
3.) Follow your heart. Be a leader. Choose your own path. To be lead, also means to be blind.
Open your mind to all the possibilities.
Even Jesus was not right all the time.

There are many denominations but that does not mean that all are acceptable to God. The Bible teaches the truth, and some find it while others want the Bible to fit their life and therefore...many interpretations. The Bible warns us that will happen because people want to find a religion that teaches what they want to hear. 2 Timothy 4:3&4..."For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away form the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories." Also there is an organization that teaches the truth and there are nearly 7 million people in 235 countries who spend countless billions of hours teacing others what the Bible really teaches.

For the first six hundred years, the old testament was passed down verbally, then it was written into Hebrew, and later Greek.
Most new testament books were originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, and there were numerous--sometimes conflicting--gospels.
Constantine convened the Council of Nicea in the 300's AD, to decide what boosk would make it into the "Biblios," and which wouldn't. Incidentally they also voted on the divinity of Christ (Was he God's son, or a very good man?) and divinity passed very narrowly.
In the early 1600's King James commisssioned a bible the common person could read, and this is why you have the King James bible, as opposed to the Catholic version, the modern version, and so on.

Because there are numerous denominations of cultures and languages. You can't even get two people to agree about what happened on 9/11, what makes you think something as nebulous and old as the Bible would be any different?

He did use the apostles to write down historical events but they were Christian men. Its very complicated and all ministers dont agree so in this country we have freedom to choose which one we want to attend.
