I was wondering if there are any Christians that believe in God because of there being so much that is unknown? i.e. the universe, prehistoric times, etc.

Let us look at Exodus 23:12 "Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest and the slave born in your household, and the alien as well, may be refreshed." We can obviously see from this verse that the slave and the animal have the same value. A human slave in the Bible is an animal and not a human being. This verse puts the animals and the slave in the same category. It doesn't separate them.

I personally don't like the idea of a religion controlling the US Government, nor gov't controlling religion.

But to make people that don't support the seperation of church and state happy-WHAT RELIGION WOULD YOU LIKE TO CONTROL THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT-IF SEPERATION DIDN'T EXIST?

couldn't he be the experiment of a higher being - conducted to see how a being that thinks it is god would behave?

i know you think that god knows everything - but how does he know that he knows everything? Its not possible to know if there is something you dont know. The fact that you dont know it - means that you dont know that you dont know it. ?? Have u got that ??

Until we know how god has deduced that he knows everything - cant we define god as 'a lot knowing' rather than 'all knowing'?

You know, I have,"tried to put", some,"deep, spiritual,meaningful", questions here at this site.
I have made a lot of poor choices in life...
But I have chosen to use this site to see if there is ,"ANY HOPE AT ALL for people to WAKE UP..."
I have tried most of my life to ,"escape",from this,"reality", (my own self made reality I suppose) whether with ,"drugs, or sex", or even SCREAMING at people who I allow, to "make" me mad, hurt, upset, or angry.
Escape...it seems like all I ever wanted.
Sometimes I wonder if we were all already,"in PARADISE", with,"Who/ What" I choose to call GOD.
Whatever ,"form", you choose to believe created ,"ALL OF THIS",
You can not convince me that ,"THERE WAS NO PLAN", for "all of this".
And still I may make a spelling error, or punctuation error...I may have ,"chosen to smoke pot", or whatever...
It is my life, my choice to MAKE MISTAKES...
But then to be called,"STUPID", or "IGNORANT", by someone who ,DOES NOT KNOW ME OR MY LIFE...

When in the wake of the flower-power movement it was removed as a diagnosis because of political pressure and no medical reasons.
It makes me think..... the more people try to convince and scream it's normal, is it because they are trying in vain to convince themselves it is while deep down they know it's not?

Most religions speaking of a man as a free being who is responsible for his actions and choices, though this image isn’t accurate.

If we look deeper into our lives, and try think of choices we’ve made will we find ourselves free?

Please take in consideration:

-The genetic map the person inherits by his ancestors which decides his physical shape, decides his intelligence, and many diseases or handicaps he might have.

-The place and time where he lived, and the effect of the family upon him, how much the values of his time will effect his choices.


-Take in consideration the school he will learn from, a poor child wouldn’t probably take a chance to have good education, a rich child on the other hand will have that chance.

-The environmental, economical, political ect.. situations of the country he lives in, and how that will effect his ideological path he might take.

With all above and many other effects we never chose, how much are we free?

The Majority of the founding Fathers of America were Christian, and documentation shows they believed it was impossible to run America without God and Morals. That Buddism is the only way to live your life without the mumbo jumbo and dogma of an organised religion. The enlightened course is all you need, and the realisation that everything in the whole world from earthquakes to dropping the milk is perfect. He only hates the acivity, right? So what you are saying is that a person has to ignore his natural born inclinations and atraction towards the same sex? Never know what it is to be loved back by someone you love, because they are the same sex? Never be able to be happy and ignore every fiber of your being, so that God your father who wants you to be happy and says he loves all his children who accept him, will love you? What kind of unfair choice is this to leave to someone? I am a member of the LDS church...and a friend and I are debating on the subject of drinking Green Tea. If there are any SERIOUS priesthood holders out there who can answer this puzzling question for me...it would be helpful. I know that Green Tea is good for your health...but it's a matter of Obedience for me...and I don't want to drink it if it is one of the "restrictions" (for lack of better term) set forth by the Word of Wisdom.

There were many answers to someone's question earlier that the dinosaurs were drowned in the Great Flood.

Do you understand how inaccurate this is?

The time period that the dinosaurs lived, there were only very, very small mammals, they made homes underground to avoid being eaten by the giant reptiles...

Has anyone researched any sort of history and/or science outside of the Bible?
