Step One: Stop polluting Islam with Wahabbism and the extreme Islamist (Islamic I consider a good term so best not to use this when describing Osama and Fiends) laws. If people do not have this evil ideology then Osama and Fiends would have few if any followers.
Step Two: Work for change in the Middle East and in other Muslim Countries. Western Democracy need not apply, but at least a system where all men and women are free and equal and have unimpeded access to material and spiritual wealth for their families, information and knowledge (a.k.a economy and education) and equitable and true justice (not the same kind practiced in Saudi Arabia). If people are valued and happy and smart enough, then no one will flock to this filthy ideology of Osama and Fiends.
Step Three: The first two are long-term and more difficult ones, but this is short term and technically easier; destroy Osama and Fiends (bomb 'em, shoot 'em, burn 'em, irradiate 'em...whatever it takes to wipe their filth from the face of the earth). It would be best if the Righteous Muslims did this so that these filth cannot claim martyrdom (which is why the West/Non-Islamic world is having a hard time...). In case anyone objects to step three...question their righteousness because they dont understand that Osama and Fiends are already beyond repentance and therefore an eternal danger so long as at least one lives.
If the Righteous Muslims (who I still believe despite everything thats happening still comprise 90% of the Muslim World) do this and the Non-Islamic World supports and assists them...then Osama and Fiends will lose plain and simple.

Well, i guess a war should be waged against the extremists, who portray the wrong image of Islam throughout the world. but True Muslims are too busy in living a Peaceful life in this world, that i m afraid they are Not ready to do 'Jihad' against the extremists. and extremists are the only one doing all the fighting. but, this idea has many pitfalls as well, as the west will make use of the situation at hand, and will want to further brew up the tensions b/w the two, and the west would love to see Muslims, broken up in factions fighting against each other and reducing their strength.
Waging war against the extremists by non-Muslims is also Not a good idea as bush is doing, he is fighting against crazy ppl, and these crazy ppl will keep on increasing as long as bush is fighting them. this fight has no suitable end for anyone, as extremist's clerics play on the fact that bush is doing so harm to other Muslims over the world. so, if bush stop causing harm, and stop sucking the blood (oil) out of Muslim land, this extremism will immediately stop.
But, a more true & suitable idea, is to kill the top clerics who propagate the wrong message of Islam, in the mind of the followers, and to make the followers listen to The Real and Only Message of Islam which is "Peace" (literally), this way the extremism amongst the ppl might finish. Peace to All.

I say turn them on one another, let them kill each other for a while. Wait they already do that.
Dude some on that region of the world has been at war sense BEFORE the days are marco pollo. They are not about to stop any time soon, not till they blast one another back into the stone age. But like Eishien said i do not know what weapons world war III with be fought with but i know WW IV will be fought with sticks and rocks. So all we can do is sit back and try and minimise the damage over there, and afterwards go and get the oil, lol. LAst part was a joke but for real, it will never end man.

This appears to be a good and logical question and I suspect that many of our Muslim brothers and sisters do speak out against the extremists. However, we in the west have become part of the problems in lumping everyone together and allowing many innocent Muslims to be killed as part of the collateral damage particularly in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine. If I were in there place I think I, too, would be struggling to understand why my people must sacrifice and suffer. I think we need to stretch ourselves beyond our fear if we are to come to terms with this problem. Once again - religion (both Christian and Muslim) has become an impetus and a barrier to peace.

the hassle on right here is in case you attempt to describe how the media works, I presume interior the U. S. as interior the united kingdom, the brainwashing has labored on them. I hate how an entire group of individuals are vilified by using extreme minority. the clicking has genuinely no interest in publishing/exhibiting Muslims condemning the terrorists. The tabloid press in Britain is an absolute shame, a breeding floor for racism, homophobia and Islamaphobia. i'm an atheist and as such have genuinely no love for Islam nor Christianity or the different faith yet i'm bowled over at genuinely the hatred in this internet site for Muslims. The Koran might perhaps have barbaric practices however the Bible is in basic terms as undesirable and specific, some theocracies interior the middle East and the Taliban are a shame yet that's a lot extra to do with patriarchal and medieval thinking. I even have Muslim acquaintances and Christian acquaintances. My Muslim acquaintances get actually scared while the tabloid press prints its nasty stuff and that i'm ashamed. And by the way, I lost a pal interior the international commerce middle on 9/11 which you will possibly desire to be thumbed down for attempting to make a rational fact approximately Islam fairly depresses me. It depresses me extra as quickly as I see so-referred to as (and that i in my opinion mean "so-referred to as") Christians on R & S being so hateful and vindictive. As an atheist, I even have extra compassion and much less hate in my heart than them.

The Muslims do not step up to the plate. Evidence being the cartoon written and the upraising against that. What about some noise from them about the atrocities that other Muslims justify siting the Koran as a reason/right. No they are a part of the problem. I believe their lack of out cry makes them guilty by association.

You have presented a valid point. But You really lack the knowledge of how extremist acts, They have no hesitation about killing themselves or their next door neighbors while they are trying to make their point.. Also disagreeing with their tactics can lead to your entire family being wiped out because you could be thought of as a traitor. Also you have to remember that 99% of those dying in their fight are the small fries I have yet to hear of a big time or small time leader dying in a suicide attack, And that alone should tell you allot about their leader's courage and how much they really believe in their actions..........

You could go to Iran, Syria, Lebannon, the countries that are sponsoring terrorism and promote change. But then you yourself become their enemy and become a terrorist target. Someone will find your body dumped in a street shot in the head for daring to oppose your "Muslim brothers" and their radicalism.
Other than putting your life on the line, you can just simply renounce terrorism and try to be a good example to the Muslims around you. If every Muslim out there that wasnt actively engaged in terrorism was RENOUNCING and refusing to support terrorism, it would die out very quickly. But since your very own prophet himself was a violent and oppressive man, I doubt the Muslim need for violence will ever cease.

Islam needs a movement similar to the Reformations of the 16th century that brought Christianity out of the Dark Ages.

They need to stop being the "Silent Majority" and begin to speak out. The "Right Wing" Christian movement is still a powerful force in the U.S.A., but they by no means are as powerful as they were only a few years back because the "Silent Majority Christians" began to speak out and oppose the "Right Wing". Religious or political radicals are by their very nature opinionated, boisterous and in your face. They only understand confrontation and until they are confronted they will continue to try and force their narrow minded views down all society.
