I'm not singling out any religion. I'm referring to all of them. Its ridiculous. Does god work for the fashion police? Does god work for the FDA?

All religions are based on delusion and hence are ridiculous. Religion is for the weak, gullible and simple minded who can't face reality without a psychological crutch.

No, all the food issues are basic in healthy subjects. In the medieval times, where there were not a lot of food, due to the fact off bad cults, and lot of disease affected not only the population, the animals to. So persons with no culture, poor and hunger, how are they going to understand they cant eat pig, cos they will became sick and might die? They wouldnt have heard that, and the rate of death would have increased. Thats why the religions, to prevent that, they said it was what God wanted.
Other area based in mythological sources.

Meaningless rules in the OT, such as about what to wear, etc., had no purpose other than to impose restrictions on the Jewish people, give them a sense of unity separate from others and make them a disciplined political force. The OT is all politics, baby.

Does God care that Rev. John Hagee or Rev. Jerry Falwell (or any number of other preachers) are grossly overweight and that they eat whatever they want -- ignoring the fact that gluttony is one of 7 deadly sins?

Has God struck down Tammy Fake Bakker or Jan Crouch for looking like fools with all of that makeup (and in Jan's case: huge pink wigs)?

No, God doesn't care. Never mind that stuff in the Bible about the daughters of Zion and how women should dress modestly. The Bible was written by men who like to be control freaks. If God cared, he would have done something about it by now!

A fundamentalist Christian is one who believes that there exists an all powerful, all knowing, universe spanning entity that has a deep and personal interest in your sex life, however, when hundreds of millions prayed for God to stop Hitler, their God did nothing and 30 million+ died. Either God is heartless, powerless, both, or does not exist at all.

no I think the supreme being cares more about how we conduct ourselves and treat others. I think the Jewish practice of Kashrut is very ungrateful. they should be grateful for the food that god has has provided us. people choose these silly customs of dress and diet to try to elevate themselves above their fellowman. being good to one another is much more holy and spiritual.

No I don't.

However, some of the dietary restrictions began because of health issues. Pork was considered unclean because pigs roam through their own excrement and bacteria can enter their body through their feet.

I'm not even sure what you're referring to.

I know that Jesus never said anything about not eating anything or wearing certain things. I know those of the Jewish faith sometimes limit themselves on dress, but that has more to do with trying to remain humble - it's not really a mandate from God.

If God cared about that sort of stuff I'd consider Him/Her to be very petty.
