I know looking for GOOD things in the Bible is hard, but I need this ASAP

Thank you "believers", for proving me right once again. You hypocrites will never give up your Xmas tree. And as usual, you
are talking out your necks about the cross.
The ahnk,( if I spelled it right), is supposed to be the fertility symbol. The Egyptian cross with a circle at the top. Which I sometimes doubt is true, since we always have our minds in the gutter. I think it may just have been a symbol of the human body.
The cross is also a symbol for the human body, being
symbolic of Christs death, and an extension of the equal sided
cross, that symbolizes the four directions.
Have a nice day.

Do people sometimes join religion not because the truly believe in it but for some kind of ego boost? The aspect of being in some kind of special club?

There are different religions and many different sects and denominations of each one and it always seems to come down to "my religion is better than yours" or "I'm better than you because I belong to the only group that's going to heaven."

Know what I'm talking about?

Who knows what about Christian Rap? What other genres of rap, hip-hop, and r&b are there out there besides the mainstream stuff you hear on the radio?

Islamic history tells that prophet Muhammed used to send small missions (Saraya) to kill his opponents. Some of the people that have been killed by those missions include Asmaa Bint Marwan, Abi Afk, Ka'ab Ibn Al Ashraf, Om Karfa and many others. Is that true?

if God has changed the ten commandments to nine (even though He wouldn't because God is the same in the past, present, and future), wouldn't you think hewould make a big deal of it in the bible? I mean, not give us subtle signs that people pick out to refute the argument? if God was to take out one commandment, He would make sure we knew about it. And some people argue that the sabbath was made for the jews only, but the last time i read the bible, it sais that the sabbath was made for man. I think this would include everyone. God made the world in six day and rested on the seventh and commanded that we "remember to keep it holly". Why have so many forgotten? Why do most keep it on the first day (sunday) and not the 7th (on saturday)? If god didn't care which day we kept holly, he woulnd't have been so frank as to specify "the seventh day". and most people who go to church on sunday do not keep that day holly (resting from all activities). i just don't get it. thanks

I spend a LOT of time on this forum, as well as around the "religious" (no offense) types of people, I notice that many people try and force their options and beliefs that they claim to be right on other people even on people who don't want to hear it.

My question today, is what is your "take" on the cause of this, is it really the religions fault? To be honest, this actually sounds like prejudice to me, the logic here would be "I'm right, everyone else is wrong, if you want to be right, you have to live MY way".

Personally I don't really blame the religions on this (and believe me sometimes it is pretty hard not to), I blame the people, prejudice has been around for longer than religion has, going with the theory that as long as people are different, there will always be prejudice.

Some examples of what I can take from what I am talking about...

Do you ever feel all these religions are committing crime against mankind by doing brain wash? Every religion has its own principles and its own story. They have justification of all wrongs they did in past and excuse for every stupid thing they are doing today. They all are against each other and condemn each other. Don’t you ever feel like setting yourself free of all these chains and fly high in sky which we called life? Can’t humanity survive without religion? Cant a person be just beautiful, wise and good by heart without being religious. You may answer in yes or no also.

What I really can’t understand is why so many fundamentalist are set on the idea that God had to create creation with the snap of is fingers and *poof* it was all there fully formed. Even the bible states a day is like a thousand years and there were many metaphors scattered about enough to cause an intelligent person to pause (i.e. the four corners of the earth) and give consideration before jumping to the literal conclusion in any given passage.

We were not born in a poof of smoke, we evolved from a single egg and sperm that through the various stages grew into the adults that we are now. Does it not make sense that even creation also is taking time to evolve? God is not like Genie from Bewitched who simply wiggles her nose and ~ boink ~ it appears. Be reasonable and do not evade the evidence that is right before your very eyes. I acknowledge there is a God, now be big enough to acknowledge the subtleties of the creator you so revere.
