The facts are we are on a planet called earth with a limited amount of resourses. We need to give people basic rights to live life.

If I live life positive, just and fair, isn't that enough?

my favourite verse in the Bible (Lev-11:20) states that 'all fowls that creep, going upon all fours shall be an abomination unto you.' That contradicts real life and the bird kingdom and, if birds could speak, they would tell you that this is not God's word.but for you christians you will tell me this is God`s word

From the early days of Islam, pagan non-muslims who refused to convert to Islam were slaughtered by Muhammad and his followers. However, many Christians and Jews who refused to convert were spared, but only on the condition that they paid a form of protection money. This special tax (the 'jizyah') had to be paid by Christians and Jews, but not by Muslims. How can such religious discrimination by the founders of a religion ever be justified?

accuse the God of the Bible of being unholy, to not like God's way of doing things, IN LIGHT OF the fact that your perspective is tiny and God's is HUGE?
Either God is messed up or your thinking about the Bible is. The answer to that is obvious. YOU have the problem, not God!

So, anything negative you think or have to say, is because you do not understand the Bible correctly, and I don't care how many times you may have read it. If your heart was not right when you read it, THAT is the problem.

Do you think George Bush is one of the most powerful Christian figures in the world today?

Do you think he has been a positive or negative representative of the Christian religion?

Why is so much hype abt Jesus. He was no more than a magician. Just read abt Hindu mythology even an inexpert sadhu could have transformed him into monkey if he was given a chance. He was little psycho that he claimed himself to be son of God. There are people who claim them to be even God. They need medical care.

If no, then how can the church have any authority at all if their doctrine is wrong, they are clearly not informed by God. How can the church condem people today, when they are clearly not in a stright line of people inspired by god?

If yes, why would god condone the murder of people who were correct, and then have his church change their story to eventually accept the truth.

In other words. Religion is bad for human progress. Right?

Not your Soul(second mind, Spiritual Super-Computer) or Body.
Getting Born-Again (SAVED) is an Actual Recreation of your Spirit by the Holy Spirit.
Religion cannot Recreate you (a Spirit, with a Soul, Living in a Body.)

I mean they're instructed at an age when they also trust Mom and Dad about Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy. How different would the world be if, rather than just following whatever they were born into, people made a semi-adult decision about what felt the most benevolent/humane/holy/whatever?

I've noticed, often, that the "best answers" are often incorrect. Some best asnwers (of course) are based upon opinion, while others fact. I've noticed many young people on here and hope that people really don't take this all literally and seriously.

I relate the below paste to God the Father being Bramha, both being creators. I see Jesus being similar to Vishnu (who ironically was also named Krishna in a latter incarnation) as they are both preservers of types. And finally I see the Holy Spirit as being Shiva in that they destroy once was, giving room for new birth.

"Brahma (not to be confused with the over-arching Bramh) is that reality in its role as creator of the universe; in Vishnu it is seen as the preserver and the upholder of the universe; and Shiva is that same reality viewed as the principle of transcendence which will one day 'destroy' the universe. These are the Trimurti, the ' three forms,' and they are not so much different gods as different ways of looking at the same God."

Is it because they don't believe in the right god? I once got told that I would go to hell because I don't believe in god, who decides this? Apart from not believing in god I have been a good citizen and never done anyone any serious damage. Should I not be forgiven for being a nonbeliever?

the Middle East are descendants of Shem. Thus, "anti-Semitism" would include anti-Arab bigotry. The Jews, of course, are the biggest anti-Arab bigots to be found.
