accuse the God of the Bible of being unholy, to not like God's way of doing things, IN LIGHT OF the fact that your perspective is tiny and God's is HUGE?
Either God is messed up or your thinking about the Bible is. The answer to that is obvious. YOU have the problem, not God!
So, anything negative you think or have to say, is because you do not understand the Bible correctly, and I don't care how many times you may have read it. If your heart was not right when you read it, THAT is the problem.

Am I mistaken, you mean alot of folks on here do not do this? This happens all the time. I sound like I'm ranting, but I don't mean to. I'm simply asking you if you really think you know enough, or correctly enough, to warrent discarding or rejecting the Bible.

I think the problem here is actually you are unprepared to listen to other peoples points of views. Surely comdemning someone without knowing what they actually think is not very christian? I wasn't aware ranting was recomended in the bible either.

It's not just that most of the Bible is inconsistent with the observable facts of the world, even the four major Gospels are inconsistent with each other. If you add to that interpretations that legitimate (among other things), pedophilia, slavery, revenge, genocide, incest, and the burning of pigeons when a woman is on her menstrual cycle, then yes, believing the Bible is flawed is not so difficult (and certainly not audacious). I hope it's clear that I know the Bible at least reasonably well. No, I've never been a believer. I don't think I have a problem and don't care if you do.
But you worry too much for God, it doesn't follow that to find nonsense in the Bible is to hold it against God. The Bible wasn't written by God, it was written by men. LIke most men in positions of power, they satisfied their own agenda first.
Hope this helps.

That's just it, the God of the Bible---Jesus, Dude, take Him out of the box of a book and get Him into your life for real.
God is all there is and God is good all the time, it's us who mess it up and have the audacity to blame God.
God is Love, love is an essence, not a person on throne 'out there' somewhere, it can only be personified through every human on the planet.
Your judgment says a lot about your relationship with this God and book you defend.
The Bible is fallible, was translated by fallible human beings, words are not easily translated from three different languages. Mistakes and omissions are made.
If you have to stick with the Bible, read the red only. Jesus knew, Jesus lived it, Jesus had relationship with God as it was intended from the inception of time. Pay attention! Wake up!
I can't help but wonder why you're so angry at those who stand up for what they believe and experience.... Anger is birthed of fear---why are you afraid and of what? Being wrong because it's so damned unbeleivable as it reads?
The Bible is stories of humanity, filled with debauchery, and making mistakes, which you call sin, and there is some credible advice on how to live as Love intended. Most humans can't do it because they have too much ego to kill. I call it the MoneyPowerEgo game. Pay attention!
Now, go find another book to read and stretch your mind. Jesus said, "Repent." When properly translated means, "Use your mind."
Jesus also said, "The Kingdom of God is within." This means within every human on the planet and beyond. Meditate. It's the only way to go within and this will require you using your mind.
The problem you state at the end of your 'question' is highly accurate and it's obvious your heart isn't right either. Fear and anger come from pain, what hurts so bad you feel a need to strike out?
Take care
Mama

I agree with you. Most people that reject the Bible have not read it, or their heart was not in the right place. I call it Contemp prior to Investigation. I find that the people that have an open mind and heart undrstand the Bible, the more intellectual they are, the less they understand. Understanding what the Bible says about the nature and character of God is based on a surrendered spirit.

because the bible has over 100 contradicitons. God is not flawed. The Bible is a COLLECTION of books. not all of them are accepted by all faiths and that is for many reasons. not all of them were God inspired. Many of them have been changed and corrupted over time. if you look at the history of the bible you will see the reasons why the bible had to be retranslated numerouse times. you can find a website that lists obvious contradictions on the web. just type in "contradictions in the bible" and browse.

Aren't you forgetting about "freedom of choice", we all have the choice to believe or not to believe.
Don't forget that men wrote the Bible, inspired some "men" say by God. You have to search for what proves it to you you are right, but even God understands men's weakness of thinking himself superior.
Also the books chosen to be translated were faught over, wars waged against this passage to include or exclude, don't you think there is something wrong with that. The Bible is the only book to survive all millenia, but not all of it was translated in the right context or in order that the scriptures reveals. What do you think Jesus was talking about when he said "It is written..." There were scriptures and rules defined before time as we know it now was. Jesus knew he was going to die for our sins. It was so written, before the first edition of any type of Bible was published.

Hmmmm, well, that is very interesting, but you are making one HUGE assumption - God is real. If you do not feel God is real, then the whole house of cards falls.
You have to first have a belief that God is or could be real before reading the Bible for you to NOT think it is completely crazy. If you want to call this lack of believe a "problem" that, again, is founded completely in your own beliefs and, once again, discounts the beliefs of others.
But you are free to think everyone should follow your beliefs. You just can't actually expect that to happen. You do, however, seem to have trouble understanding anything outside your own world.

Understanding the bible is not something you can accuse somebody of, thats just plain stupid. Understanding the bible is within the person that reads it, not everyone takes the same word the same way. If white boy me would go in the city and start talking ghetto id prolly get shot, but if a city person did theyd fit right in. Everyone takes things different ways.
If your so closed minded that your understanding of the bible is the only one I think its time you go step off your porch and into the real world.

The reason why there are some people that do not believe in the Bible is easy if you read your Bible you would already know why there are people out there that simply just don't believe...In Romans God says that we are predestined to be his church....God has chosen his church and those that don't understand the Bible and those that reject God are simply not God's chosen...Read your Bible and God has an answer for anything....God Bless

How can you even conceive such a thing to be true is my question to you?
Did you know that god told me yesterday that I need to go talk people into jumping off a bridge and it isthe only way he will take you into heaven today. The day after you will have to shoot yourself in the head to get to heaven. he has a rule for each day and each breed of people. Most of us are allowed to live our lifes as we see fit but that is because we are not weak minded and don't believe in fairytales.
Get real. You and your make believe friend are getting old. Why don't you just be happy and go give your money to a rich guy so he can go to the super bowl in his limo. He really has trouble living off his own money that he scamed others out of and needs yours to help.
