or

Would he be given medication and diagnosed with a mental health issue?

I am not trying to start an arguement, but i am really interested to see what people think.

I think that if a man started to tell everyone that he was jesus he would be locked away. I say this through experience. I used to work in a Mental health Hospital and that is exactly what happened (this was in the late 70's early 80's when i worked there), the patient was already in the hospital and he thought he was Jesus...so definatley no, he would not have his teachings embraced...

The teachings of Jesus have been faithfully preserved and handed down through the centuries by the Catholic Church.

Are His teachings "embraced"?
Answer: Just look at how many people hate the Catholic Church.

As for Jesus being alive... Jesus IS alive and He is here with us. Before he ascended to Heaven, he said this: "I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)

So how did he leave... yet stay???
This is the mystery of the Holy Eucharist.

Here is an excerpt from a good article:

"Is there any real difference between Jesus in heaven and Jesus in the Eucharist? No, it is the same Jesus. The only difference is in us. We now on earth cannot see or touch him with our senses. But that is not a limitation in him; it is a limitation in us.

JESUS is really now on earth in the Eucharist."

When Jesus talked about eating His Flesh and Blood, many people thought He was crazy. (John 6:41-42) (John 6:52).

Now look at John 6:66. After Jesus talked about eating His Flesh and Blood, many of His disciples walked away, because they could not wrap their finite mind around what he was saying. But Jesus did not stop them and say... "Wait, I didn't mean that you have to LITERALLY eat my Flesh and drink my Blood... come back!"

Before he was executed, Jesus revealed the Holy Eucharist to the Apostles at the Last Supper. He said, "This is My Body" and "This is My Blood". (Mark 14:22-24) He meant what He said.

The Holy Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ.

Catholics know this and non-Catholics like Lutherans, Episcopalians and Anglicans know this.

Will you have faith in what Jesus says... or will you walk away too??

He would probably not be embraced. The Bible has warned Christians that the anti-Christ will come, and I'm sure he would be mistaken for that. Everyone else would lock him away in a mental institution, or he'd end up like the Waco, TX guy.

He would be embraced by all those who truly believe in His teachings even while He is not walking around in the flesh. The truth is however, that no matter how you look at it Jesus is still alive today, but I think You want to know if He would be embraced by the world if He were here, now, in the flesh... as a man once again. He would be embraced by those who know Him, but many would reject Him, as they did before.

i do entirely see your point. i know every mother thinks their child has a sacred purpose, but this question strikes a particular chord with me.

i have a son (18) who is very spiritual, a clarivoyant, magnetic amongst people, and has been diagnosed as "bi-polar". his experiences and visions make him feel both blessed and burdened. he is viewed alternately as either a prophet or a confused kid who should be medicated. i come from a long line of spiritual people, healers, ministers...my own father told of being levitated for an indeterminate amount of time and being spoken to by God, and this is how he recieved his calling to serve man as a minister. psychiatrists think that we are making progress when they quiet my son's painful empathy and stop him from having what they refer to as a 'jesus complex'. i want him to have peace and be happy, and it's difficult and confusing to witness such an incarnation. he's a soul magnet, he's a prophet, i watch the things he says come true...and because society does not know how to understand such a person...he is deemed "crazy". i'm not particularly "religious" and really do my best to be very rational and objective as i guide him into his adulthood, and even i don't always know what to make of this person i've known all of his life. so i can only imagine that this modern world would put jesus in a straightjacket.

Not arguing if Jesus is real or not real, if Jesus had all the power that God could give him or if he would live with only the skills oa a like man. The bottom line is science would look at his miracles and study him. He would have a mass following because of his powers to heal and raise people from the dead. He would have a lot of security from people trying to shoot him. Remember, people worship a candy bar that they think has a holy image.

He would once again be killed for his beliefs but more than likely by bullet instead of being nailed to a tree. Almost all outspoken liberal revolutionaries that can not be paid off or coerced into silence end up dead. Failing that then yes, medicated and told to conform because you are either with us or with the terrorists!

Thats a relly good question I ask myself alot. Sometimes I think that people would embrace His teachings even more because he is right here. And alot of people pul out of christianity because he is so "intangible".

Sometimes I think that people would be even more critical than back then, because we are such a sceptic race.

But I dont think He would be put in a mental institution

Jesus is alive today. He ascended into Heaven to be with His Father. He will come to earth again (soon I think). His teachings are to be forever embraced. Just because He isn't in a human body on earth right now doesn't mean we are to stop doing what He said earlier.

Your parents taught you things when you were a child. After they die are you to forget what they said?

Mmmmmmm,

In today with all the medical/technological advancement etc he would probably have been diagnosed with a mental health issue. Purely because people are encouraged to have freedom of speech etc and society is much bigger so people are less likely to listen.
