Is this the 'logic' behind faith in God and the Bible?

Agnostic here, dont want to convert anyone,

http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/gospelpeter.html

What does all this mean, that there are all these writings by people who knew Jesus, and some of their stuff made it into the Bible, but not everything, especially stuff that is of a different doctrine.

So Peter says in some of these things he talked to Jesus and heard things from Jesus. Things that change Christian doctrine.

Is Christianity for you about Jesus, or is it about "bible", or like me are you something else and use books to get life lessons and not to base your soul on a doctrine

1. Yes, I know they really don't heal people.

2.Yes, I know I blasphemed the Holy Spirit. God can't do anything the Catholic church did to me for 8 years.

This question is not making assumptions about the truth regarding Jesus, I want to consider the subtext of the Jesus story.

Does it not help others to embrace his morals of charity when they come from a man born in a humble barn? Also Joseph was a carpenter, as Jesus was, a blue collar guy.

It seems that his place of birth makes his message more convincing than had he been born to a materially rich man in a huge noble house. What if Joseph had been an emperor?

I am aware of the heritage of Moses, and his upbringing, although remember that Moses was adopted, so that gives him an out. Even though he was brought up as nobility, he never truly was.

I'd like to know what people think about this.

Is there a religion that does not make this claim?

Is this claim sufficient to believe it is true? Why?

And why is it not true when it appears in the religious books of other religions?

If we took a randon sampling of the peoples educational level I'd bet it would be 8th grade or less. Some people worship a crying piece of plaster, granite, or concrete.

Why can't she cure all the little kids of cancer. That would impress me!

For those who don't know, the Pauline letters opened up the door to the inclusion of Gentiles in what was, prior to Paul, a Jewish Messianic cult.

By including Gentiles, Romans and other non-Jewish people could participate and accept the Church, obviously a very useful decision that eventually gained the Church political power.

So how do you know whether Paul's letters were included in the Bible because they were divinely inspired, or were included as part of the political machinations to help the Church gain political power?

If so, I need you to pray for my niece, a little girl named Roselie that has been in intensive care since Wednesday due to E Coli. She is less than two years old and is not not very well at all. The doctors say that even if she survives the disease, she may not be able to go to the bathroom normally again, as well as other complications.

I am not interested in heartless cold comments that people somehow feel more embolden to leave because of the anonymity they feel they have on this site. Your well wishes are appreciated, but we really need your prayers.

So ever tell someone something....which gets passed along from friend to friend & the next week another 1 of your friends comes up and asks you if what they heard was true. And when they repeat what they heard, it is SO far off what you originally said that you are left dumbfounded & confused? How could that have happened?!?!

My question: The Bible was written years after Jesus was killed... written by people who weren't there to witness everything or if they did - they were super old when it was written. People have difficulty remembering what they ate for dinner the day before! How can people WHO WEREN'T EVEN THERE PERSONNALLY, write something YEARS after it happened.

"The Bible was written over a period of 1400 to 1800 years by more than 40 different authors." "The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is believed to have been penned by the Apostle John between A.D. 70 - 95. "

It all points to it being one old and long broken telephone

The Biblical descriptions arebut for learning purposes. To think truly that God is so weak as to have feelings is a form of personification, and therein it demeans the Lord God.

And before I begin, I hold no animosity towards Catholics or Protestants.

But I would be ignorant of history to be unaware of the animosity felt between some protestant denominations and Catholicism.

So I'm asking those protestants why they continue to use the Bible when it was Catholics who chose what to include, who chose what to exclude, and who transcribed it, one copy to another, for about 1400 years before Protestants appeared?

Why assume it is the word of God when those who were responsible for its creation and preservation are the ones you distrust?

Before u read, i would just like to say that i am agnostic and was just curious about this.

In Ramayana (Hindu Mythology), it is said that Lord Rama was helped by an army of "Vanaras" who are inteligent monkeys. Could these Vanaras be the Neanderthal men or an unknown evalutionary branch of primates?
I heard that modern man co-existed peaceully along with Neanderthals. Could Ramayan be the story (Possibly changed over time to the current version) of an incident which happened during that time?
