we have a new pastor.
yes he is a little heavy set, but he speaks gods word.(bible).
some of the women at church called him a fat..so..in..so preacher.
he is just a stand in till we get a new permanent pastor. (ours moved to florida) . this stand in man is an evangelistic preacher who often speaks his mind.
but can u define what so..in ..so ..means???
i think its mean(i know it is).
god may get mad if we judge him.
we were used to our pastor of the past 10 yrs.
he was a true christian and friend. he was serious but yet funny too.
maybe everyone is looking for a copy of our old pastor.
we have 10 candidates but it may take a while to choose one.
we are praise assembly, in madison, nc.
we have good ppl at our church , but like anywhere, busy bodys.
the board will talk to them about their behavior.
i just hope the sub- pastor doesnt hear this bad stuff.!!!
so define ..so .in so.

(update)well my husband said it meant like an s.o.b.
yes its sad a man of god was talked about like this.
i should myself have defended him. but guess i dont know him too well and dint know what it meant. i didnt hear it said..fat so in so myself. a board member told me that it was being said.
i myself havent felt the spirit much when ive been at his services. this was my only
negative remark.
still shouldnt have.
its so hard to be perfect. no one is.
iam still a babe in christ.
i try not to gossip etc with co-workers, but its hard. juicy news is hard to turn away from.
but yet i know i need to do so much better.
i have come along ways since i was younger. iam ashamed of many mistakes in my past.
i know full spiritual growth takes a long time.
i guess ppl are ppl no matter if they are in a church or not.
my hubby will not go to church because of hypocrites.
he studys at home.
but thanks for all input.

What a shallow group of people to talk about a man of God in such a way. I find it unacceptable to think that someone called to preach, and to dedicate his life to be obedient to Christ, would have to be ridiculed at the church where he is standing interim. So sad. Did anyone speak up for this man?
You may have a hard time finding a pastor, the Lord doesn't care to place His chosen, where He is not welcome Himself.

Your husband is correct. Down south the phrase is common, and it means exactly what your husband stated.

I'm shocked to hear that church people would talk like that....not Christian like to say the least.

I also tend to agree with your husband. I went to church all my years of growing up, but when I got sick of the hypocrites I decided I would stay at home and practice my beliefs my own way.

I believe you are trying to live your life in a good way, and I wish you luck. I hope the meanness of others does not put you off from what you believe in.....take care.

So-and-so is a milquetoast euphemism for profanity. Christian hatred requires such substitutions to distinguish it from other forms of hatred. Isn't that special?

Talking about what they say here accomplishes nothing. If you truly believe it is mean tell them what you feel. Jesus would not have tolerated that kind of behavior in silence and neither should you. All that is required for evil to happen is for good people to remain silent.

As "so in so" is something that you have to personally censor. Whatever they are saying is bad. They'll go to hell, dont worry.
