More circular fun: You can find God if you believe in the Bible, but only if you believe in God when you read the Bible.
As for finding cities that are mentioned in the Bible: "The Odyssey" also mentioned real places a few times. Does that mean that somewhere out there there's an island with a giant, one-eyed corpse? It's a collection of myths that incorperated real-world locations. And your point is...?

Get past it. Not everyone who has faith in a Creator believes the Bible was written by God. Men wrote the Bible but they were men who thought, meditated and prayed a lot about the subject. There are Truths in there and there is also crap just like any other religious text. You have the benefit of living in a day and age when almost everyone can read and information on all beliefs is readily available, take advantage of this fact. You are so hung up on the misconceptions of others you are basing your opinions on that instead of reading and drawing your own conclusions. You are no better informed than those you judge, you are just being spoon fed beliefs from a different source.
Everything in the Bible, or any other religious text, was written for a reason. A lot of what doesn’t make sense needs to be taken in the context of when it was written or in the context of the passages before and after it. Although the people had the same wants and needs as us 2000 years ago life back then was extremely different. If you study the time and learn to imagine what it must have been like you start to see the logic behind what was written. It also shows you how times have changed and how a lot of it is no longer relevant.

When the Book tells of something that is going to happen thousands of years in the future and it happens just the way it said it would to the very day, I think that would be a bit impressive, don't you? I think something like that could be trusted. If you will check history against the bible, you will find it goes hand in hand. Things that were predicted many centuries in advance came true as it said it would when it said it would to the very day. Believing in that is not faith but common sense, that which is so rare these days. Go through the prophecies in the bible and you will find every one has proof of when it happened when it was predicted centuries in advance of it happening. You will find the stories that is told proven by the archeologists today and showing the exact places that they happened. How can you not believe in a book that is so accurate and that has things that are just being found out to be true now when it was written thousands of years ago by men that had no idea what some of the things were? Every fact in the Exodus has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt by the scientists that so many claim cannot prove it. It has been proven already and making discoveries daily that they did not know before but are proving now even though many thought it was just fiction. They have found the things they called fiction are really factual and they have found evidence to prove it all. So it is not just because God says so, or the fact that the books says so but it is all the above and more. Even the scientists say it is so and are proving more and more of it every day.

I think it is a question without an answer.
If there is a God, the proof is pretty lousy. And all religions denounce anyone trying to find proof. "Faith" is what is necessary, and any search for proof is denounced as a lack of faith.
But any argument against the existence of God is hampered by the overwhelming odds against spontaneous creation of life. We can't do it in controlled lab settings, but it happened in the vacuum of space, spontaneously?
And if it did, where did the simple matter come from in the first place? Who made the matter that started the "Big Bang"?
Those are questions that have caused deep thinkers like writers and poets to be alcoholics and suicidal. Simple minded people either walk in lock step with the Bible or proudly declare their athiesm with an equal lack of knowledge.
Me? I'll have another beer...:)

That is the "logic" behind faith. We believe the Bible is true because we have faith that the Bible is true. Faith is not based on logic.

The Holy Ghost guarantees the wisdom of discernment. All you do is listen to that voice inside you.Even without the 'Bible', you can choose the right---How is this? Because of that voice inside you telling you the truth---- no matter what. This is the way you can always walk in the ways of righteousness without worry of being caught up by the adversary.
If you have reason to question the validity of the Bible's books or other writings, you can always put it to the test and get the true answer you seek.

Depends.
You you approve of people stealing from you?
Do you approve of your wife or girl friend having an affair behind your back?
Do you approve of a home invasion person pointing a gun at your face and then using it on you!?
Do you want the repairman to lie to you to make extra money?
Do you approve of Darwin, for 80% of the animal world rapes for propegation, so don't complain when your 13 year old daughter gets cornered by six guy who impregnate her by force, because that is the way of the MAJORITY of the animal species! Do em, leave em.

As with any written testimony in a court of law, some of the "proof" is dependent upon witnesses who experienced the events which occurred. Since all of the witnesses are dead, all we have to go by are their written testimonies. It isn't an argument of logic, as you say, but it is more of a retelling of the experiences of those who were there.
