Religion & Spirituality - 26 August 2006

In my short time here in the Religion & Spirituality section I have witnessed so much STUPIDITY and HATE being perpetrated by Atheists and Theists (usually Christian and/or Muslim) against each other. I've seen the majority of the arguments of both sides and I have concluded that when it comes to attacking and defending against each other, many of the Atheists and many of the Theists are all full of crap!!!

Can't we just sit down and talk intelligently and stop trying to insult and force crap (both theists and atheists are guilty of this...) down each other's throats?

Love God above everything
Love other people as much as you love yourself
Love other members of the Church and be prepared to die for them
Love your enemies (those that hate, insult, despise you), returning good for evil
Forgive everyone everything (that is, if you want everything forgiven)
Show mercy to the homeless, the hungry, the poor, the prisoner, the sick, the elderly, the outxast......
Do not judge non-believers - that is God's job
Do not judge people weaker in faith
Do not judge people who express their genuine faith differently to you - it is up to God whether or not they succeed
Do not judge yourself - God will let you know if you slip up.
Let no-one judge you according to meat or drink, religious festivals or sabbaths.
Judge only those that claim to be Christians but are immoral. in which case do not even eat with them

All of a sudden she says she has these convictions from God. We have been living together and all of a sudden she says that she still wants to date me, but wwe can't have sex until we are married.

I think that since she started it that way that she should keep it going that way and care about how I feel.

I mean what is just a little while longer of having sex? No big deal right? God will forgive her? We are getting married soon so she should just keep having sex with me.

Honestly, I don't agree with them. They're just like a bunch of confused women who are more into the idea of liberalism. But I would like to know what other muslims might have to say about them.

Preferably, I would love the reply from our own muslim sisters...

I don't really believe that any religions are better than each other, but i do believe in god, and i think that god is not caught up in trivial rituals such as covering your face, or not eating pork, or going to church every sunday, or saying hail mary's .

I believe that if you're a christian, and you live a good life in the name of christ, then god accepts that as living for him. Or, if you're a Muslim, and you live a good life in the name of allah, then god accepts that as living for him.

I think that god accepts all religions as his own, unless they are based on bad things such as hatred. I believe that as long as you live your life for a god that you believe is real, god will accept that.

Why does God just sit there, watching the strong killing the weak?
Why doesn't he let a would-be rapist die of an heart-attack just when he wants to rape his victim? That way nobody would know it was a divine intervention, clever people would just notice that wanting to rape mysteriously gets you killed ...

Like it is, it doesn't matter whether God is real or not. It makes no difference. The innocent still suffer. And if they suffer less, it's because of humans wanting to help them. Not God.

How can evolutionists and atheists so easily accept a theory that says a giant rock exploded and created billions of symmetrical and geometrical planets. how can a design so structured, complex, and artistic happen by mere chance. It is like saying the paint for the Mona Lisa suddenly splashed on a canvas and created a masterpiece by chance or accident. Explain how there is design from that of atoms and ecosystems to constellation and galaxies Just because you cannot see God doesnt mean he is not alive. Can you see gravity. To discredit an infinite God you would have to infinite knowledge of an infinite universe. God is too great to rationalize and man is too pridefull to admit he doesn't know it all.

I need some good advice. Please tell about what pressure you went through and what did you learn from it or how did you react. It can be any kind of pressure, maybe at work,school,relationships... or whatever pressures one may face. I know this has nothing to do with religion but it does have to do with spirituality.

i don't understand this at all. the name of this site is RELIGION & SPIRITUALITY than why are so many nonbelievers in here? this is where ppl come to ask questions about the bible about other and religions. if you don't think God is real than why are you in here? why not go some where else like "health" or "food and drinks"? why is it so important for you to be here if you don't want to hear about the Lord??? my brother was disfellowshipped from my congragation a few years ago. he now lives in canada and visits my parents once in a while. when i see him i really get happy and hope he has good news about being reinstated. but i dont think he wants to come back. will i ever be able to talk to him again? only my mom is a witness.
