I'm not talking about when a person is serious about what they're saying, but it's when they ask questions like if I eat candy in church will I go to hell. Aren't you ashamed of even asking a question like that?

I'm having a birthday party for my husband soon and I know he loves baloons. But Anita in my Bible study group said that baloons are of pagan origin and should be avoided by true Christians. I don't want to offend Jesus, but I don't see how baloons could represent anything unwholesome. Do you?

When I ask "If God created us from dirt, why is there still dirt?" do you actually think I am being serious?

Don't answer yet! I know you are a slow thinker, so please take five minutes before coming to your answer.

Of course, anyone with half a brain will realize that my question is satirizing the popular Christian question, "If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?"

In reality, this question only proves one's ignorance of evolutionary theory. Nobody claims that modern species of monkeys are our ancestors. The theory is that we share a common ancestor, and this ancestral species has been phased out through evolution.

So why don't you educate yourself, and then also learn how to spot sarcasm on the internet?

In a court of law one needs evidence to proceed-this COUNTRY is based upon laws By For and of THE PEOPLE-it is high time that the people take back the country from the religious right-as you are pushing your beliefs into the WORLD VIEW which is exactly the opposite of what this country was based upon-WE escaped Monarchy and yet you would have us follow YOUR KING-It is not for you to decide-The Decision was made 200+ years ago but now you are trying to convert us back to your way of thinking which rest in a 2000 year old manuscript and you do this based on YOUR own beliefs that have caused the world to become a dangerous place to live. yesterday, my boyfriend told me that jesus went to hell to save those who didn't have a chance to repent (because jesus wasn't born yet) and brought them back to life (or to heaven, something like that)

i always think he's a big liar cause he's know for lying alot (not a good quality in a bf) so i went to his sister to confirm it and she said that a catholic (or someone who put the bible together) left that part out cause it was "too confusing".

can someone else confirm this for me? it sounds true but it's not in the bible and christians only follow the word of God (right?) and even if it is true, i don't think anyone has the right to leave something that extreme out of the bible.

i want people from all religions to help me answer this so i don't only get one side of the story.

i'm not a christian yet, i'm discovering christianity and seeing if it's the right path for me.

How is it, that science contradicts God in a logical way and knowing that maybe all of those Bible people could have been mentaly ill, how do you find faith? It makes no sence to me.

Ironically, I am not an atheist.

Simply arguing the validity of atheism does not mean that I am one myself. Just as arguing the validity of Buddhist doctrines does not make me a Buddhist.

I am a deist, and you just owned yourself by making an ignorant assumption.

I saw a PBS Frontline special a while ago, where an aussie reporter convinced some Islamists in Iraq to let him film the insurgency. He almost got killed several times by other Muslims who insisted "the kafir must be killed" despite his arrangement with a top leader.

The footage was amazing. Muslims firing mortar rounds or shoting, in the middle of the village, and all the villagers walking by like they were a part of normal life. The Muslim Jihadists made no efforts to conceal themselves from any of the Muslim villagers, they only hide when troops got closer.

Whats an extremist? A man Muslim with a gun? Poll after poll shows that most Muslims worldwide support the Jihadist doctrines. Bin Laden is adored, widely adored by most muslims. Ive posted PEW studies before, other posted cultural pieces or other studies that say the exact same.

So why do we keep using this horribly deceptive term "extremist". It misleads everyone into thinking this is not a majority view.

For example, I went this weekend with my wife to buy a new washing machine at Fry's and both the floor salesman and the cashier had Islamic names and neither one showed any signs of being at war with anyone.

if I leave a piece of cheese out, it will grow mold. is that god or biology? I would say its evoloution. eventually life will grow on that cheese.
Am I wrong to say that we are all just bacteria growing on some cheese? or maybe we are all a virus attacking one cell inside of a giant body? is that body god? I think we are slowly going to kill all life on earth....but new life will grow. Is that god? I think its biology. ok here is my theory. I think God set nature in place at the beginning of time just like gravity. He gave us charge over it, but the more unnatural things we do, the more unnatural things happen, By unnatural I mean Killing, Raping, just things that are against God. Im sure many of you wont agree but I think an inbalance in nature is the cause of the Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, Two headed babies, Babies with no brains etc. Maybe I think too much! lol
