A poster in one of my other questions accused me of being an atheist:

"It is sad that an atheist has such poor reasoning skills."

Ironically, I am not an atheist.

Simply arguing the validity of atheism does not mean that I am one myself. Just as arguing the validity of Buddhist doctrines does not make me a Buddhist.

I am a deist, and you just owned yourself by making an ignorant assumption.

I'm not an atheist either, but I like doing what you do. We should go get drinks, get plastered, get in our cars, and call the cops! YES!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a Christian but I always try to question Christian reasoning and other aspects of my religion, along with other religions. Just because you question something doesn't mean you're against something or trying to disprove it. I do it to learn how to defend my own beliefs better.
However, I guess I could see where someone might assume that one is an atheist if the person is promoting atheistic beliefs. Still, it shows the poor reasoning skills of whoever replied to your post with "It is sad that an atheist has such poor reasoning skills." That is completely illogical. Whether or not the person is an atheist has little or nothing to do with their reasoning skills or the lack thereof.

If you argue the validity of atheism or Buddhist doctrines, people are naturally going to wonder, what you are after. Are you with the atheist, or with the Buddhists? Seems like you could be a bit double minded.

Drowned my self? Not likely. If one walks like a duck and sounds like a duck we usually assume that it's a duck! You were making atheistic arguments and when those arguments were logically slapped down you began to rant like a small child. I'm still waiting for a logical counter to my last argument but since you can't provide me with one you simply attack another aspect of my counter.

Personally, I am not Christian or Buddhist or Islamic or any other organized religion for that matter. I am agnostic. I evaluate every argument. You, however, are easily offended when confronted with the truth.

So I will recant calling you an atheist...but you still clearly have very poor reasoning and argument skills.

Sounds like you struck a nerve with the poster and they could not come up with an intelligent response for you so they would rather call you names. Now, how Christian like is that? I have many views that Christians might see as athiest. Funny how you should never judge your neighbor yet so many Christians are first to cast the stone. How sad!!!

I totally get what you're saying. I've been called "godless" and "atheistic" too (not here), and I'm Pagan! I believe in multiple Gods!

In your spot, I'd be a bit more offended at the "poor reasoning skills" part. Or if they're being really stupid, just laugh.

You know people are good at jumping to conclusions before they get all the facts. People always assume I'm one way or the other when I ask questions myself, when I try to state my questions in the neutral position as not to get biased answers but I stll get them because of assumptions. This is just the world we live in. God bless.

Atheism and Christianity are the two most represented groups in the forum, and most people come to group everyone into those two categories.

Actually, you sound like an open minded person.

I like learning about other religions too, and being able to articulate their views does not automatically mean you subscribe to them.

Ignore the rude people and keep asking yoru insightful questions.
