Are you Christian? If yes:

I respected your religion, I'm just asking easy questions that I would love to hear a convincing answer (still waiting for it). And you should be happy answering them back and not ignoring them, ok?

We are still brothers and sisters at the end, right

You know, I do agree with you. Theoretically. I tend to have a live and let live attitude, and in my work I encourage people to seek comfort in their faith if they are so inclined. But some of the things I read on this site, postings by Christians mostly, make me deeply angry and seriusly concerned about the damage that unresponsible religion can do to people and societies. There are so many hateful, judgmental, seperating, intimidating, threatening messages that you guys shout about the place without ever seeming to consider what you might be doing to people, especially young, vulnerable people. You know kind of stuff I am talking about. e.g. kids asking if it;s okay to masturbate, or to be homosexual, or to have an abortion and what not. And in swoop the eternal damners, spout some ridiculous tripe about god and satan and hell and sin without a thought as to what you might be doing to the person on the other side. Quoting from an outdated book seems more important to you than compassion, understanding, fellowship. I'm sure that some of the other 'agitators' here are also just fed up and perhaps go out of their way to get under the skin of believers because I guess we think you are not only deluded but dangerous. A world without religion would, most likely, be a much, much better place. Can you understand what I am trying to say? Just a little? it is not meant as an offense to you or your fellows. Just an attempt at an explanation for some of the rude comments that I have made now and then, which are out of character (at least for me) but do seem justified once in a while.

I'd like to believe that, but as long as christianity has been around, it's been "my way or the highway". (Or should I say low way, since all of us who are "none" believers are going to hell.) Why do you think that there are so many people who are so irate? I am not christian, yet I respect christianity. I am not muslim, yet I respect islam. I am a spiritual being who has decided to take my spritual life into my own hands. Do I get a lot of respect from Christians? Nope. I get "oh, you're wrong!" and "My, you really shouldn't be a deviant!" Very rarely do I get respect from christians, which would entail them respecting what I believe in, and not trying to convert me if I say I'm not interested.

If this were just about belief systems that did not effect the political process, that would be easy to do. Believe what you want, associate with whomever you want, because it's a free country.

However, religious people are trying to censor, jail or kill homosexuals, women who have abortions, doctors who perform them, people who want to teach science without religious dogma inserted into the lesson plan, force people to pray together in public places. And that's just the US Christians!

Respect means not forcing your beliefs on others in a secular society. Get your brothers and sisters to back off trying to make the Government enforce Christian dogma, and I'm happy to let you believe and practice as you wish.

Not when religion is currently causing so many deaths in this world. Everyday there is more people dead because of this Jihad. Now Iran is refining Uranium!!! If we don't quell this disease of religion soon, we'll all be dead.

Also, I hate how religion works on the gullibility of people. I saw on the tv the other night some guy called Joel Osteen. This guy was laying it on really thick. How can so many people give that guy money. It makes me sick!

Tried that.......not working very well.....I respect most peoples views, opinions and religion but if someone who claims to be a christian starts spewing a bunch of hate and misinformation I will speak up, allbeit with tact. I will not resort to name calling and petty BS. Most people who truly beleive their religion or whatever will not attack without being provoked.

I understand where you coming from with this but a question like this is only going to led to more negative reactions. As long as there are different beliefs there is going to be problems. But, good looking out for all us religious people.

"maybe" we'll get respect back? No, I don't think we would. And I think I'll continue "attacking" your religion as much as I like.

I swore to fight evil and ignorance wherever I found it. The biggest place I found it was in religion. As Daffy Duck would say, "Of course you realize... this means WAR!"

If you define anybody who doesn't share YOUR religion as a "non-believer", then it's understandable that they'd take offense!
