Is adherence to dogma manditory for believing in God, or is acceptance enough?

What is it about the infidel that you find so offensive? Is it the lifestyle, the supposed 'freedom' he enjoys or simply his very existence? Do you truly believe Allah wants see all infidels killed?

Tell me your kidding.

Are we too primitive? So primitive we do -not- punish the children of offenders, and their children and their children, endless generations punished for the deeds of one person.

Imagine running our justice system this way:
"well, 500 years ago your ancestor committed a crime, so we're going to lock you up, and your kids too, and their kids..."

How do you manage to believe in this stuff?

My sister went to a catholic convent school from the age of 11 to 18, run by nuns, where prayers and strictness were militarily enforced ... she became alcoholic but has since refound love
i too had a difficult time through school and turned to vices, but still have love
if somebody drinks a lot of alcohol and gambles...but still has much love and gives to the homeless, cares for the sick and helps the needy might they still go to heaven?

Ok, I know you don't believe he was the son of God or anything, but over all do you think he was a pretty cool person? I'm a christian and have an atheist friend that thinks that Jesus is someone to look up to, not because he was the son of God or anything like that...but from his teaching and morals. I was just wondering if any other atheists thought along these lines. Thanks!

PROTESTERS calling for an end to recent violence in Sri Lanka found themselves brawling with hardline Buddhist monks today, after a rally dubbed a ?peace protest? turned unexpectedly violent.

Organisers said there were around 1000 people in a park in the capital, Colombo, listening to a range of speakers when hardline saffron-robed monks opposed to concessions to Tamil Tiger rebels mounted the stage and erected banners.

Some more moderate Buddhist monks, protesting for peace, were already on the stage when punches were thrown. Soon, monks' robes and fists were flying, although no one was badly hurt, witnesses said.

“They were saying we should go to war,” said pro-peace monk Madampawe Assagee.

“We like to listen to other opinions so we let them do that, but then they started fighting and we couldn't control some of our people. They tried to make it a big fight but we settled it in a few minutes.”

I don't know what to do. My husband and I have been married for about 2 years now and my sexual drive is completely lacking! I don't know why and it has nothing to do with him. I'm not thinking about anyone else nor am I doing anything wrong. I've prayed about this issue and its making problems in our marriage with sexuality. What should I do?

Fellow Christians. If you have accepted our Lord Christ,
repay him back for what he did for you. He died in Cross for you being tormented and tortured and humiliated.
Repay him back my brothers. It's better to avoid sex completely. You will burn but you will burn for Jesus Christ--you will burn to pure gold. Repression of sex is like prayer and sacrifice to our Lord. Avoid temptation--not even look at or talk with women, if you are unmarried.Do you know it was for the woman that Adam was misguided and disobeyed Jesus to eat the fruit
and bring sin amonst us. Do you know that it was the woman who was actually the first one to commit the sin of disobeying Lord Jesus? Do you know how the name woman came? It was formed from two parts--WOE+MAN.
Lord thus cursed most of the women because they rebelled against the Lord. That's another reason that God incarnated as a man and not a woman.Most women today are transvestites and abominations. God cursed Eve that she will be like a servant to Adam but again you will see--most women don't recognize the Lord's command and again they are rebellious.
If u have sex before marriage then in Gods eyes u are married to that person if a man rapes a woman in Gods eyes they are married.
So, it's better not to even marry.

We've had pentecostalism and the charismatic movement, Faith healing, television ministry, christian rock, the Jesus Movement (hippy), the Purpose Driven Church, the name it and claim it prosperity (word of Faith) movement, the Toronto blessing (christian laughter and barking lol), Christian mail order, Christian politics, Potter house, Christian Yoga and Martial arts, Christian movies and fiction, bible prophecy seems to make a comeback every generation, etc.

What do you think the next big money making christian fad will be?

I mean i usually pray for a good day and thank him for everything. that's something some what simple. Our pastor is always telling us that God wants us to ask for something big. so then why is it when a woman has fourteen days left to live, i pray to extend her life, she dies in four days? why is it that for namy days i offered praise and thaksgiving asked God for a job that i really wanted. i trusted so much in him. i gave the last of my money in sacrificial offering and now I find out that they have to many people and i dont get the job. so why should i still trust God after he has shown to be not trustworthy. I am really dissappointed and confused.

If you never had a father or you had a horrible one, I know those feelings you have, I know the empty feeling and the "missing" piece in your life. Mine was an abusive drunk beyond belief. If this is you I would like to share what I have learned to you. There is nothing wrong with you, what happened to you was not because of you. I know the fear of having children, I too had that fear. Give your children what we so desperatly wanted from our own fathers..you know what that is because it's the very thing you craved. LOVE them like crazy, Love them without hesitation and I promises you it will be returned. Love them lavishly, Love them extravagantly, not with money...your heart! I have rasied 3 wonderful children and they walked in love everyday of their lives with me...I was never abusive or caused harm...DON'T FEAR! You have what it takes..use the pain to be the parent you know you wanted...Love NEVER fails!!!

All one has to do is take a look at the American prison system. Nearly 76% of violent criminals are Christian and NO, most of these Christians did not convert after conviction, they were Christian at the time of the crime. The greatest genocides in human history stemmed from the Christian faith. If you examine secular societies in comparison to religious societies; secular societies will consistently have less crime, unemployment, corruption and more freedom, share of wealth and a higher standard of living. Nearly EVERY single advancement towards morality (I.E: ceasing native genocide, freeing the slaves and women’s suffrage) was OPPOSED by the church and Christian organizations.
