yeah...i'm going to have to agree with you...why are they so angry? maybe it's because they have nothing to believe in? no hope for the next world? God does exsist, and I think the atheists are in for a rude awakening...and soon.

Nobody is angry at believers just for believing in anything. And nobody is offended by a nonexistent being -- that's impossible.
What's annoying and outrageous is some of the things done by some believers in the name of their god or gods. Here's the short list:
- attempts to force the teaching of fantasies on an equal footing with fact in public schools
- makng a scene at soldiers' funerals with hateful placards announcing "GOD HATES FAGS" and "Thank GOD for dead soldiers"
- repeating the old lie that "atheists have no morals because morality can only come from god"
- more wars and invasions than I care to list
- etc etc etc ad nauseam
Then there's the oft-repeated threat: "Believe or you'll go to hell." I get tired of hearing that.
These and other offences against human rights, civil liberties, and plain common sense, too numerous to mention here, all serve to make atheists angry. But please note: it's not belief which is offensive, but rather the actions taken and statements made on the basis of certain beliefs or belief systems.

The trolls are the ones who'll post the ignorant messages.
I'm offended, not by those who have faith, but by the ones who won't take a look outside their comfort zone. If, you use your brain to do some research, and come to the conclusion of a god, great. However, if you start with that conclusion and then mold the work to fit it, its frustrating as hell.
Don't take everyone as angry, just because of a few idiots though. I come here, personally, to debate the issue. If it gives either of us something to think about, all the better.

I am not offended by that which I do not believe in. Why do you assume every atheist is angry. I'm not. People have the right to believe in any belief system they wish. I just would like to have the same right with my beliefs.

Because so many Christians try to shove their religion down other people's throats. Because Christian values regulate society in such a way that many people find it insulting. Some people might feel abandoned by God or whatever higher being they may have believed in.

Atheists don't hate people participate in a religion, but they hate when those people don't respect other people's beliefs. I am not an Atheist, but I have had very rude representatives from other religions try to convert me, or tell me that I am going to hell. The intolerance is what we hate.

Personally I'm not angry at anyone, but I can imagine that if someone lived in a highly religious society they might be angered at the negative impact that religion has on their life.

I can't really speak for athiests I only know that you as a christian would likely tire from hearing a Jew or Muslim attempting to convert you day in and day out. I imagine it's the same for them. Best wishes

What? I'm athiest, and I'm not offended by any christian stuff or God, I just don't mind it. You're generalizing a little bit to be honest, but I hold no grudges.
Maybe it's all about when the christians try and push us into religon, maybe it's christian's narrow-mindedness. I think that's what drives some athiests mad.

I don;t care what you believe in, but when you start to try and turn your beliefs into our laws, then I get angry.
