I never knew there was a study that proved this statement. If I am wrong, give me the facts.

Belief in God is such a personal thing. This belief has nothing to do with who or what we are. I remember in grade school being told that so many scientists believed in God because their devotion to science led them to that belief. But I think it's a mistake to take that and say anything specific about scientists believing in God. Some do and some don't. And some don't know. And it doesn't matter as the realm of science and the realm of God are not the same. The realm of science is the observable cosmos. The realm of heaven is within.

They don't, it tends to be the mentally handicapped.
Scientists will soon explain why some people are religious and believe in God, and why there’s so much trouble caused in the world by religion. Scientists have already shown that some people carry a "warrior" gene that makes them more prone to violence and criminal acts.
It’s also a well known fact that intellectually handicapped people are often quoted as being the happiest people in the world. They are so blissfully unaware of the true world around them, and see and believe reality to be quite different in their mental worlds.
I think religious people are blessed with a similar “handicapped” gift which would explain why they see and believe in the imaginary world of religion, God and the Bible. I think religious people are also blissfully unaware of reality in their mentally handicapped world. This could help, explain their irrational behaviour.
Some people are genetically predisposed to violence and criminal acts, and I believe scientists have also found that some people are genetically predisposed to religious or spiritual acts, but have yet to publish their full findings to avoid a public uproar.
Scientists may well discover that people who are predisposed to the “religious or spiritual” gene are probably more likely to also be predisposed to the “warrior” gene, which would ultimately cause these people to have religious conflicts like crusades and wars. It is already a well known fact that religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began.
Religious people do not understand the question “why” and so God, Religion, the Bible, or whatever, takes over and controls their mind. The trouble with this solution, unlike science, is that anything can be twisted into whatever you wish to believe and therefore is always right. Sadly to say, that’s irrational thought.
However, there must be a rational explanation why religious people act in such an irrational manner, and I think scientists will prove in the near future that it’s all a function of genetic disposition.

Well...I'd rule most scientists out of the equation...they're the ones fighting most vociferously against the whole Intelligent Design nonsense...to say evolution is incorrect gets the scientific community's collective panties in a twist.
There are proffessionals all over the globe that believe in "something" and that don't believe in anything...to say most believe in God (the Christian one, I'm assuming) is incorrect.

Not in the 6,000 year old Creationism Earth or Adam & Eve and Noah.
They are using the label "God" to name a mysterious higher power that they can not perceive. A lot even "go through the motions" of believing in God so as not to be alienated by their families or professional circles, when if they answered truthfully, they would admit to not believing in God.
PS - Dr. Dino is not a real scientist.

Actually, you seem to have faulty information... they don't.
In total, about 60% of scientists in the United States expressed disbelief or doubt in the existence of deities in 1996. This percentage has been fairly stable over the last 100 years. Among leading scientists defined as members of the National Academy of Sciences, 93% expressed disbelief or doubt in the existence of a personal god in 1998.
"Whereas 90% of the general population has a distinct belief in a personal god and a life after death, only 40% of scientists on the B.S. level favor this belief in religion and merely 10 % of those who are considered 'eminent' scientists believe in a personal god or in an afterlife."
A recent survey of members of the National Academy of Sciences showed that 72% are outright atheists, 21% are agnostic and only 7% admit to belief in a personal God.
Belief in personal God 1998
Personal belief 7.0 %
Personal disbelief 72.2
Doubt or agnosticism 20.8
Belief in human immortality 1998
Personal belief 7.9 %
Personal disbelief 76.7
Doubt or agnosticism 23.3
Surprisingly, the religious beliefs of non-scientist physicians are consistent with those of the general public... 90%.

Ignorance allows men or women to deny God. Scientific data has proven that the few recorded persons who manifest more than 15% wisdom-potential--all believe in God. God set a limit on how ignorant we humans can be. Since scientists, especially the modern ones yearn for more wisdom and understanding--the climb away from ignorance is a magnet towards truth. Truth draws a person toward God.

Simple. If you find it strange that a silicon rock evolved to a Pentium D (R) rock you'll realize that even if evoultion is embedded in our life system to match the ever changing environment we livein. It can't explain most of the scientific facts try these as example :
1- The human brain, more than the two pounds of mater there, there's wisedom and the most complex knowledge system we know.
2- The role sharing : How can you explain that dumb cells shared the work between them ( vision, digestion ...)
3- How can you explain the milligram dosage of substances in our blood...
Evolution isn't the end of the answer itself needs direction. Ipersonally think of it as amiracle itself not as a substitute to creation.

I don't know that the majority are believers, but let's assume for a moment that this is true. What does it prove? The majority of them are men. Does that mean that women shouldn't be hired or are less capable of holding those positions, or is there more to the equation?

Grace unto you and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Question is, which God of false/true Gods, which God of foolish/wise Gods, which God of dead/living Gods, which God of this/that Gods, which God of high/higher Gods; For there is "the only true God" in heaven(higher than the heavens) and also the false God on high in the divided heavens. Getting high on Jesus, the new high priest of the God on high, is still a short fall from grace, is above such law law on high in the divided heavens.
So, maybe these smart people believe in law, the God on high, when they should believe in the higher God, the God of all grace, who reigns from a throne of grace, where only mercy is obtainable.
The "grace"(God) of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
