(I am an atheist, just an fyi for answers.)
People are posting questions about how religion starts war, lesser known/populated religions are agreeing, "higher-class" religions are disagreeing.

Are all these arguments no worse than a war? Can't people of different religion get along? This world is crazy, anyone who doesn't agree is probably pushy, snobby and likes shoving religion down people's throats, now go ahead tell me how wrong I am and how I am a sinner for caring other religions in a world where there are so many but only few are recognized and accepted. Or tell me how I'm wrong for letting those "biblethumpers" made me accept them.

It almost makes me ashamned of being human.

In most cases, if it is written in the Bible, people say that it is true. If that is the case what do you make of the following Bible verses?

Deuteronomy 33:17
His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

Psalm 22:21
Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

Isaiah 34:7
And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

Does this verify that there were infact beautiful horse like animals with horns or does the Bible speak of some other creature?

Do you believe in this day in age, your response to other religons would be as positive as it is to your own? For example, I am a Hindu, and I believe in my own Religon but I understand and appreciate the concept of the other major religons that span accross the globe. I believe being narrow minded, will make you the target for hatred. Does Anyone else agree?

As many of you know, I'm just this guy named Sean. I'm really an agnostic, and the FSM is really a movement within American culture about religious views being taught in school, and footnote 2 of chapter 5 of page 66 which discusses same sex couples.

Often times on yahoo answers the question is put to atheists to prove that God does not exist. This question I find to be absurd.

I ask the above question, to persons who read it, can you prove the non-existence of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, in an attempt to illustrate the absurdity to those who have asked, can one prove the non-existence of God.

I respect the religious, and their right to worship in their churches. But I think that sometimes the religious cross the line in their belief that this is an American Christian nation.

Is my question valid? Or is it only valid in that it illustrates that someone elses question is not valid?

Does making someone else's question invalid make my question valid?

Aaaaaaalrighty! Since you're here, let's get a few things straight...

I either want a list, or a link.

I don't want any answers saying they're not real, they're evil, or anything like that. Although I am expecting it, unfortunately, it is just a request on my part... so...

PLEASE NO WRITING AN ANSWER SAYING THAT FAE ARE EVIL, SATANIC, NOT REAL, AND/OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! PLEASE!!! IF YOU HAVE HALF A BRAIN AND/OR HALF A HEART, YOU'LL DO AS I REQUESTED!

Lastly, it belongs in this section because I happen to be a Pagan who believes in Fae, making it part of my religion.

Thank you for the help.

If proof of Gods existence is what you seek then read the Book of Revelation, and then keep an eye on the War that is taking place now, Revelation speaks of this same War, it tells us that the Countrie that will win, will rebiuled the Temple and then a man will go in there and claim to be God, that is the false prophet he will prepaire the way for the real antichist....but in Revelation the countrie that it speaks of is Perue but over the years the name has changed to Irak....If you dont see what Im saying now, becuz all this is going to take many years to fully open...just keep in mind what I said

I've sincerely tried reading the Bible--a good chunk of it. I've gone to church, and prayed. Sang worship songs at church etc. etc. I've prayed asking God to open my heart to Him. I still can't get myself to think past "The idea of God is so lame!!" I just can't. I think the idea of God is ridiculous. I would list reasons, but I'm lazy and don't feel like writing a book.

They say everything happens for a reason. If God exists, maybe he has me predestined for Hell...it's His plan! He made me an atheist. Right? I admire Ghandi. Maybe we can have a quick chat before we burn forever.

I believe that religions are more alike than different, they set guidelines on how we should interact with others. There's good & bad in everything, I accept them at face value without judging whether they are right or wrong.
Before I get attacked for asking this question...I should tell you I was raised protestant...prayed & attended church for several years. I believe more in the power of prayer because it's the good intention of others to help us overcome obstacles in our lives. I've read somewhere that "in the subtle realms, intention is action."
When I help someone on the street, I never think of religion, I think of a fellow human & how I would feel in their situation.
I don't feel I'm better or worse than anyone else...just a person.

By Higher Power, I mean for example: Jesus, God, Allah, Vishnu, Ultimate Reality, Buddha, etc.

I am NOT looking for a belief system. I am looking for a description of the relationship. I will choose best based on how well described.

My hypothesis: There are going to be more similarities than differences, no matter the religion.

Even though I am Christian, I am interested (not a scientific study) to see the responses. Thank you.

Most people that I talk to whom are religious people don't even know what they are talking about. You ask a question, they either quote you a bunch of scriptures or refer you to someone else. The ones that do try to give you an educated answer on why they believe, sound as if they were brainwashed, cause all their answers seem to be the same.[Faith] I have faith in alot of things but that does'nt mean they are all correct. I think people just need to open their eyes and see the world for what it really is and quit killing people in the name of your God.

Empirical evidence Jesus created the world: n/a
Empirical evidence FSM created the world: n/a

Jesus's religioius text: Holy Bible
FSM's religious text: Gospel of the FSM (available at Barnes and Noble)

Same sex marriage -
Jesus's position - no according to Lev 18:22, Rom 1, 1 Corinthian 6
FSM's position - yes according to footnote 2 of chapter 5 on page 66

If my religion, which requires faith, permits same sex marriage in accordance with footnote 2 of chapter 5 of page 66, and the US Constitution in Amendment 1 states the Congress will not establish a state religion, then does this mean that Church's of the FSM can legally marry same sex couples?

How would the founding fathers feel about the Republican push to Amend the US Constitution so that Pastafarians couldn't practice their religion?

Is the land which the israelites are occupying now really the promised land which is promised to them? israel and u's'a and saudi governments are trying to hide artefacts which prove undenyably that the promised land is in fact in saudi arabia around the border of yemen. These artefacts are legit. The proof undeniable. What do you think, is the 'promised land' of so called israel currently in the wrong place??? PS dont say israel was promised them when the country name israel is only a few decades old. The real promised land is not in Palestine!
