Yes I do. I have no religion. I don't believe in any god whatsoever but I do believe in peace, I support charities, my job is looking after the elderly, one who is 96 and he is very sad at that state of the country because he fought in the RAF in WWII. I am also kind to all humans and animals and don't even kill insects. I'm not saying all muslims are terrorists just like I wouldn't say all Irish support the IRA because I know most muslims are peacekeeping and are against war, but these extremists who planned to bomb airliners are being brainwashed by religious leaders. I can't see the point in war. Just changing the subject it annoys me when religious people say that non-believers will go to hell. Why would I if I'm a better person than these religious evil b*****ds who plan to murder on a mass scale? Why do they think they are going to heaven or whatever they want to call it? (Even though heaven and hell don't exist). You couldn't ban religion and neither can you force someone to be religious but we need to deport anyone who incites hatred against the west immediately and if they are on benefits, cancel them and ask for a refund! Also I think it would be a good idea to have special forces infiltrate into mosques to keep an eye on anyone trying to plot these atrocities or incite this hatred and I'm sure peacekeeping muslims would agree because at the end of the day it must be awful to be tarred with the same brush just because they believe in the same religion as the terrorists and I'm sure they are suffering greatly.

Not necessarily. I would say that religion may be a cause of some wars, but not that large a majority. Most early wars were about conquest & land domination. The First World War was about proving which group of countries were the best at giving the other a good kicking (at the 'minor' cost of millions of lives), the Second was about differences of government (fascist/authoritarian v democracy). A lot of today wars are about greed & changing the world by force (terrorist or not)

I don't think religion should be banned, it's the illogical thinking of fundamentalism that needs to be banned.

Indeed! Religious INTOLERANCE is the cause of most wars. It's impossible to ban religion, because most people will still have their own spiritual belief system, whether it's part of a group or not. A government can't ban people from believing what they want to believe.

The Spanish Inquisition is a good example of a government trying to "ban" OTHER religions, and look how much good that did (sigh). Ironicly, banning all religions would have the same effect as declaring one religion to be only legal religion. It's a no-win situation. I'm afraid religion is here to stay.

Peace!

So the Nazis would like for you to believe. wars are about business, money and real estate. Religion is the excuse to get gullible people to fight. Why don't presidents fight the wars? Why do they always send the poor? Because you can trick people into thinking that they are fighting for God. God said "Don't Kill" pretty clearly. There will never be a ban on religion because the leaders control what is allowed and what is banned and religion is just too effective a tool for those leaders.
Hope this helps.

Indeed. I don't think banning religion would be a solution though because people will still have religions. You cannot make somebody say "I don't believe in anything" and really expect them to. But anyway, apart from religion, some people are really just mentally unstable, like the terrorists. Who in his right mind would kill so many people, I couldn't even think about myself holding a gun, let alone take somebody's life! I think the solution is to capture these murderers and get rid of them.

Excellent question and I totally agree with you and your observation. Religion is really just evil in disguise.

Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.

The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.

People should consider that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell.

My studies and research shows that religious people are not exactly rocket scientists, they tend to be below average intelligence, and also have a tendency to be more violent than non-believers. In some cases, the more violent the person, the more religious they are. I suspect that the vast majority of religious people are well below average intelligence.

I wonder if trying to improve the intellectual standard of our global community would help remove the various religions from our culture, and thereby improve happiness and peace for humanity.

Religion is a serious mental illnesses. It’s the inability to face the reality of life and the finality of death. It affects 85% of the USA and 75% of US victims are Christians. The more pathetic and desperate a persons life, the more likely they are to believe in a god. People with otherwise empty lives, are the strongest believers. It gives them false hope that there’s a higher meaning to their sad and pathetic lives.

Religious people are dangerous. They cannot think for themselves, but instead cling to every word the bible says. Religious fanatics can somehow throw out all scientific evidence and replace it with the word of one book that has no credibility.

Recognising religion as a type of mental illness would be a good start to help cure this disease. We should develop support groups along the lines of Alcoholics Anonymous - “My name is Sam and I’m a recovering Christian ...”

Guns don't kill people, people do thus religion don't kill people, people do. We should all rethink our education and how each of our Governments have programmed all of us - now we need to say Feed everyone, control the number born into the World, lock up violent people including BUSH and BLAIR and get a house, a job and enough food for all then we can build on that and educate more doctors, dentists, nurses, teachers and allow our children to be taught as free thinkers and individuals. Look after each other and the Strong should help the Weak instead of abusing the Weak. There is more we can do to take care of each other and to have common goals that all humans need as animals on this Earth - Food, Shelter, Families and Laws that protect us rather than Laws that we have now that make criminals of us all. I doubt if we will reach this level of civilisation we are going down the sewer with Leaders that are all about GREED and RACISM.

It's not the RELIGION that's killing people; it's the fact that one group is trying to shove their religion down the other religious group's throats! If there were NO religion, we'd still be in trouble because of a lack of spiritual leadership based on an HONSET nad SINCERE look at the Word of God with a true-minded interpretation of the Word being the cornerstone of such leadership.

Religion is an important part of the human psyche. Most of us are religous because of the inner need to have something to always believe in. The lack of anything higher can be very hopeless for some people. Relgion itself isnt why we have wars. Its relgious FANATICS who start wars, those who take thier beliefs to the extreme and force them on others. We have to take the responibility of respecting others beliefs and actions, and when that happens, the wars will stop. Unfortunatly, the human race is not famous for responsibility or respect.

It makes sense religion is a huge cause of war, but every religion is connected in some way, and people need to identify the connection so there will be real peace some day. Note I said REAL peace as in there would be no "Oh convert to sdafji! Or you'll go to *insert name of a stupid firey pit in the center of earth that doesn't exist*"
