By Higher Power, I mean for example: Jesus, God, Allah, Vishnu, Ultimate Reality, Buddha, etc.
I am NOT looking for a belief system. I am looking for a description of the relationship. I will choose best based on how well described.
My hypothesis: There are going to be more similarities than differences, no matter the religion.
Even though I am Christian, I am interested (not a scientific study) to see the responses. Thank you.

I have a personal relationship with Bast, my patron Goddess. The relationship I hold with the Goddess and God of all things is a bit more distant.
Bast is very attentive and protective. She also has a great sense of humor. She comes to me and "answers" my questions before I even know to ask them. I commune with her in dreams and see aspects of her in daily life.

Don't fall into the fallacy of believing in a higher power, a being or entity that is different or detached from your own being. God is the very essence of your being. God is not separate from you-making decisions about your life, shaping the very outcome of your existence. People search their entire lives for a special relationship with their creator never realizing that what they are seeking is within themselves. Jesus said, "seek the truth and it will set you free." He was not talking about some abstract truth, but was noting the truth of human existence; the truth that states that you are perfect from birth in every imaginable way, and that nothing you could ever do will change that fact. God is not separate, but within each and every living thing. Realize this, and you will realize your own potential and perfection, and you will cease in chasing the phantom of a "higher power," a pursuit that will only end up in more questions than answers.

I'm Christian...
My relationship with God is pretty close- I see Him as a loving Father that wants me happy, strong, wise, etc. Everything that happens in my life, whether I like the thing or not, is for my good....
Right now, I'm seeing how a lot of things that have happened in the last 3 or 4 years are comming together in an amazing way... all for the benefit of my husband and I.

My intuition is my higher power if that is the term for it. My own instincts tell me which selections to make in life: Whether or not I believe someone is being truthful, making important decisions, knowing if someone is a good person or has a hidden agenda... I think it's possible for everyone to be intuitive, but not everyone realizes it or listens to it. It's like an inner vibe you get that warns yourself not to do certain things or a good vibe that you should pursue something. I believe this has nothing to do with christianity. It is a part of a person's soul and it has nothing to do with any gods or devils. It is just something that's yours to be used wisely to help get through life. Lots of times, if you go against your own intuition, you end up with regrets.

At this point, my so called h. p. is my conscience. My philosophy is the Golden Rule, aka "its nice (important) to be nice" to myself as well as to others. Myths are interesting and diverting, and we've all been raised on them. But these days I finally trust myself more and the words of scripture and spiritual "leaders" much less. Backing off from the apparent cultural norm and attempting to form my own sense of connection to the universe is a life long quest for me. In this area ( though not in the CA. bay area) mavericks are considered eccentric. So be it.

MAN-GOD RELATIONSHIP
(QURAN 19:93). "Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to ((Allah)) Most Gracious as a servant."
Our relationship with our maker is that of the Master and servant. He is the owner and we are His slaves.
"And when My servants question thee (Muhammad pbuh) about Me, I am near; I answer the call of the caller when he calls to Me, so let them respond to Me, and let them have faith in Me, that they may go aright." (Quran 2:186)
"…and He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah is Seer of what ye do." (QURAN 57: 4)
"Were We exhausted by the first creation? Yet they are dubious about the new creation. We created man and We know what his own self whispers to him. We are nearer to him than his jugular vein." (Qur'an, 50:15-16)
