OK, here are my views on this whole conflict...they may seem muddy at first, but bear with me...Israel use dto belong to the Palestinians, but after WWII, it was taken over by Jews who survived the Holocaust, and the Palestinians' land was taken away from them as they were moved to refugee camps. Now, many of you may say that this happened so long ago that it is no longer an issue, but what you have to understand is that, to some of these people, this land had been in their families for generations, and it was all that they had. It is important enough that they were - and still are - willing to put their lives on the line in order to try and win it back. With this having been said, I believe that the Israelis are in the wrong, both because of what has happened in the past, and because of the way that they are conducting this "war" (MASSACRE is more like it). There are over a thousand Lebanese casualties thus far, most of which are civilians, while only a little more than a hundred dead Israelis, most of which are military. Israel agreed to a 48 hour cease-fire, and renegged on their promise. HOWEVER, I think that Hezbollah is wrong for refusing to cease and desist; I feel that if they were to stop, that they would get an awful lot more sympathy from the rest of the world. By continuing their small attacks - which are not very successful anyway - they are only making themselves appear as petty terrorists. Like I said, kind of a muddy response...I do think that it should end right now, though, before anymore innocent people are killed.

There has been fighting over there for SO many years, why choose sides now? The media has neglected the fact that Isreal has been the target of MANY bloody attacks, and now they are standing up and taking matters into their own hands. The media makes it an issue, but plenty of blood has been spilled on BOTH sides, read a history book.

And it wont stop, it is prophecy.

It shouldend, but the probelm is Hezbollah wont stop even if Isreal left.

Lebanon cannot secure its own countries. It would be as if Canadian terrorists attaked US soil and the canadians did nothing to stop it. Wouldn;t you expect the US to attack all of Canada and secure it to prevent these terrorist attacks. Of course it means war and many will die, but your own innocent people have to come first.

I have a hard time feeling like one side is totally right or wrong, it just seems like there has been so much violence and attrocities from both sides for so long, that it's all muddled.
But I do know that if it came down to me voting for which one I would support, if I really had to choose one, I would have to go with the democratic nation.

Israel of course. Not only are they our ally, but Hezbollah started the conflict and continues to rain rockets into Israel. What's Israel supposed to do - just sit back and take it?

I cannot possibly be on anybody's side, because they are both wrong. Seriously the outcome of all this fighting will only be less people and more damage. Nobody will have a benefit.

Israel should stop AFTER it has destroyed Hezbollah's ability to hurt other people.

it should end when one side destroys the other. That is the only way in this case for peace.
