i just want the artist. the lyrics arnt perfect. im goin by memory here. lol.

I beleive that there are streets of gold
But I will be just fine if all there is is one old gravel road
I hear that theres a mansion waiting
But a cabin will suit me fine
Just as long as theres a place where I can rest my heavy load

Because thats all that matters to me
To bow my head and thank my blessed savior on my knees
On the hills of glory in his presence i will be
to know im home
thats all that matters to me.

Ok, i am doing this in the odd chance that a mormon will come across this. I have been raised mormon, but now i am faling away, not going to church, skipping seminary, not going to mutual, things like that. I have been feeling alot of anger towards the church cause in my mind it seems that whatever problem i have i am supposed to pray to god for help. Well, i suffer from depression and that hasn't helped me, and i have been struggling spiritually. Also, my friends who go to church hurt me alot with the way they act towards me and my 'issues' and stuff, so i think that may be why i am so against going now. So, what can i do to get back? Please though, no flamers or anythign, i would just like constructive advice and stuff. thanks to anyone that reads this. =>

Professor Thomas Nagel in his 1997 book The Last Word wrote,

"I want atheism to be true and am made uneasy by the fact that some of the most intelligent and well-informed people I know are religious believers. It isn’t just that I don’t believe in God and naturally, hope there is no God! I don’t want there to be a God; I don’t want the universe to be like that."

Honestly, how many atheists here feel the same way as Thomas?

What are atheist doing here? Honestly what good does it do you to preach atheism?

I saw this quote, and for me it really sums up my struggle with accepting Christ. I was a Pagan and I completely rejected Christianity. Pushy Christians forced religion at me, and I closed my eyes to it all.But once I read the Bible for myself, I opened my heart to the message I accepted Christ and realised that it was not about a guilt trip, God truly does Love us, and I felt whole.♥

For you has faith been a journey?

Anyone who pays close attention to the Old Testament will see that God is rather rough around the edges - rudely barking rebukes and committing deplorable social faux pas, such as indelicately telling people to kill their children without so much as a perfunctory "please." Clearly, the God of the Old Testament is no one a civil person would have in his home. Jesus, on the other hand, while hardly poised, is so thoroughly pleasant (except to that dreadful mother of His, who was always pestering Him in public for more wine), that one can easily overlook his lack of polish. Every time I find myself wanting to correct Him on some inartfully phrased request or awkward social contretemps, I remind myself "Well, he is rather well behaved for a carpenter."

once they get touched by that person, their injuries would heal and the crippled and walk again and such...
are these real?
when that person touches their forehead they seem to fall down...are they unconcious when it happens?

What makes many fundamentalists laughing stocks is their insistence on applying actual 24 hour days to the creation of the earth and it’s six-day time frame. If they would only comprehend that ‘To the Lord a day is a thousand years and a thousand years is a day’ embrace it to mean God took as long as He needed or He wanted to create an environment to place humans in then accepting the rest of Genesis would be easy.

Science and religion hardly have to be enemies.

To begin with, if God is an all-knowing entity, if God is everything, then among other things He is also the greatest scientist that ever lived. Also the greatest inventor. Could He have actually orchestrated, in His own great celestial laboratory, through trail and error, over thousands or millions of years, each and every thing that populates the earth?

Couldn’t the miracles of today be performed by our doctors, scientists and clinical researchers, all under the watchful eye of the greatest scientist of them all?

I believe miracles happen daily but people just miss them because they are not listening with their hearts, where the Holy Spirit resides to guide you. Does anyone else feel the same and can you share some of the miracles you have witnessed?

i believe in God and His Son, Jesus. why don't you?

don't use these excuses, these have already been negated!
"He hasn't proven Himself to me." --sorry, take a look around.
"He doesn't love me." --John 3:16
"I hate Him." --He still loves you, always!
"He doesn't exist." --sorry, take a look around.
"I've never seen Him." --that's why it's called faith--believing without seeing!
"I don't want to go to Heaven." --He still wants you to.
"He is mean--letting innocent people die!" --John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 4:4--Satan has limited power to rule temporarily! hello!
"Evolution has disproven God." --sorry, God disproved evolution (God could have used big bang, but He was involved nonetheless!)

without using any forms of any of these excuses, answer the question: "WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE IN GOD?" if you deny God's existence, you deny your own existence. deny His existence and at the same time you deny your own. He created you, so He exists! believe it or not!

I have heard this before in a few churches. However, I have found nothing proving otherwise. If it is not then why state those things. Please if anyone can give me evidence for or against this. I've yet to find otherwise(That they became Christian). Until then I will assume they were not.

I am a good God fearing girl. I have never stolen or hurt anyone. However, I clearly understand I have sinned. I am crying hysterically as I write this. I don't know what to do. I am afraid to tell my parents and I am embarassed to confess my sins at church. I feel this is the only place I can turn to. I... dreamt of Hayden Christensen again. He is reoccuring in my dreams ever since I saw Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. I... I can't help it! Ever since I laid eyes on him, it was the end of my innocence. I can't stop thinking sinful thoughts about him. I dreamed about holding his hands! Oh... Help me... please. I have to rid myself of these dirty, despicable thoughts! I dreamed he touched my hair. And.. and I liked it. Please don't judge me for I am human. I'm so scared... I am a God fearing girl and I believe everything that I have been taught. I know that these thoughts about a man is forbidden. I feel so weak. I can't resist these urges. These thoughts. These dreams. Help me...
