i believe in God and His Son, Jesus. why don't you?
don't use these excuses, these have already been negated!
"He hasn't proven Himself to me." --sorry, take a look around.
"He doesn't love me." --John 3:16
"I hate Him." --He still loves you, always!
"He doesn't exist." --sorry, take a look around.
"I've never seen Him." --that's why it's called faith--believing without seeing!
"I don't want to go to Heaven." --He still wants you to.
"He is mean--letting innocent people die!" --John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 4:4--Satan has limited power to rule temporarily! hello!
"Evolution has disproven God." --sorry, God disproved evolution (God could have used big bang, but He was involved nonetheless!)
without using any forms of any of these excuses, answer the question: "WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE IN GOD?" if you deny God's existence, you deny your own existence. deny His existence and at the same time you deny your own. He created you, so He exists! believe it or not!

Thank you for your question.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm
Cordially,
John

Psalm 14:1.
I read it, found it to be untrue, and lost faith in the Bible.
1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
Meet some atheists, working hard for others and for charity, secure and intelligent, wise and selfless. Just because you don't see many on yahoo does not mean this place is like the real world.
But of course, you don't believe in nice atheists do you? *rolls eyes* perhaps I am bieng a little cynical, but with how many believers I have seen, just forming some dumb stereotype without ever knowing any in person, I am not expectant of you believing me in the slightest. Harrumph!
Anyway, then, after that, it went to:
Trying to get an accurate perception of the world by not assuming things, and assuming that everything is God, and that God is everything, is (need I point out) just another unsupported assumption.
There is no evidence for god. Whaddya mean 'look around' ? I know full well that I can put God into anything with a simple hallucination, but I prefer reality, myself. Just because you think everything looks like God does not mean others think that. Sheesh.

so basically I'm not allowed to use any reasoning, i don't see the logic in gods existence, maybe u can look at a bird or a pretty tree and see god but i don't, i see evolution and nature nothing more nothing less. I have studied religion and each one (not just Christianity) and i have found too many holes and unanswered questions. No-one knows for sure if there is a god until we die, i am entitled to believe what ever i like no-matter how much it pisses u off. I will not pretend that i believe in god just to please other ppl like u who are to closed minded to even try to understand what i believe.

This God is the all knowing all loving etc god, right? The master of creation the manipulator of our ephemeral existence.Well I'm looking around and see a ruthless nature where survival is like Russian roulette.Struggle to survive on every level even down to our DNA...sperm fighting sperm. This is the handiwork of a benevolent god who every year kills millions of people mostly innocents through plagues, wars, natural disasters. A forgiving god of love who has been punishing humanity for an obscure sin blamed on women ever since condemning thousands of generations of innocents to a life of struggle looking for redemption. Sorry but the quotes from the bible prove zero as far as proof is concerned. Regurgitating stuff by a bunch of people stuck out in the middle of nowhere thousands of years ago proves absolutely nothing. You had best look around and see his handiwork. Answer me this. Why is this entity so obsessed with me believing in him. Obsessed to the point of damning me and mine for eternity. So obsessed that he burns two cities to the ground so incensed by humanity that it drowns it. But he always has a back up plan with the chosen ones who go ahead and finally produce the same crap that there predecessors were drowned for. This god goofed somewhere major along the PLAN

Your "excuses" or "negations" make no logical sense to me. Your faith is fine and good for you and you've got every right to it but it means nothing to me.
Why should I believe? Because I'm afraid of hell, or because God will make me successful? These things seem pretty childish to me. Sunsets and puppydogs are proof of God? Really? I don't see why.
Most Christians--at least the ones who feel the need to prosletize--aren't people I want to talk to. The idea of being stuck with them somewhere forever sounds like Hell to me. An eternity of boring, condescending conversation where no one ever says anything new, interesting or funny. Maybe that's what old Scratch has in mind for me.
Here's a question--and I'll probably ask it formally sometime--Why do you need to ask? Why do you need to try and make a reasonable, logical proof for God? Does he need your PR? Doesn't it strike you that any logical arguments you make fall apart when it comes to factual proof? That doesn't mean you're necessarily wrong or that God doesn't exist--it just means there's nothing factual around to prove it. Your belief all comes down to faith and if I don't share yours then you really have got nothing else to argue with.
Why try and justify matters of faith with logic and reasoning (and fail miserably) when faith by definition doesn't require these things?
More importantly why do you feel the need to justify your belief to me or anyone who doesn't believe what you do? If you're actually trying to save our souls or something like that--well, OK, thanks but no thanks. I honestly don't think that's it, though. I think you and others like you honestly cannot stand the fact that some people don't agree with you. That's too bad. Because as annoying as it is having someone tell me I'm wrong in my beliefs because their faith tells them differently, I don't really mind that you're out there going to church, having bake sales and listening to horrible Christian rock. It's just not my thing.
If it gets you too upset knowing that there are people who disagree with you and are different from you--well, just tell yourself that God made them that way and you aren't supposed to understand why.

Taking a look around doesn't prove anything to me. There is a million and one explanations for why the world is the way it is and God is a possible one of them, but I find him to be very unlikely. Even if it was proven that he was real that doesn't mean I would worship him though. I have too much pride to bow to any creator. Just my opinion though.

Dont you mean to say in your question "Christian God" instead of just "God". You serve many bible verse quotes in the details as well. The problem is that I believe in God, but I don't believe in your God.

Why BELIEVE anything at all? Only personal verification leads to truth. Knowing the truth for oneself and believing what others say are two entirely different things. Belief has nothing to do with truth.

You are somewhat deluded and sound like one of those irritating religious zealout types that tries to force their beliefs on everyone else.
The Bible is the best selling fiction book ever written, it was written by men - made up by very imaginative men. Absolutely just one gigantic Fairy Tale.

cause it would take up too much of my time
it's true
i'd rather lie on a couch and watch tv on a sunday instead of going to church and listen to how i'm going to heaven or hell
and most of the stuff it talks about is beforelife and afterlife, which has nothing to do with the current life I'm having now
