If the right technology is available do you think Christians will 'help' God make the predictions in Revelation come to pass?

Through the ages some have predicted the dates on the end of the world and when it did not happen they killed themselves and scores of people.

But as technology advances I can see a nutty egotistical fool doing the deed just to say 'I told you so'.

The rare question I'll post about this subject, it's your lucky day.

We did not evolve from apes. Humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor. Apes are not the parents. The parent was neither ape or human.

Why do people say we evolved from apes? We evolved with apes, yes. But we also evolved with every other creature on earth.

Do people think it's shameful to be related to "lowly" beasts? Do some people just feel the need to be higher and something special?

I don't think it's shameful to have evolved from something lesser. We're evolving, not devolving. And I think every living thing is noble or genius in some way. It's the balance that they bring to bring to nature that helps us survive. It's like an older person feeling ashamed to be younger. It makes no sense to me.

I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, I'm genuinely interested.

Thank you.

Please compare such things as availability of food, medical care, transportation, technology, and basic human rights. Let's keep this discussion current: within the past 100 years, please! Comparing two specific countries (England vs China, for example) is fine.

I'm placing this question in Religion and Spirituality because Athiests often mock the outcome of governments that tolerate or base their governmental rules on one specific religion!

How did the Athiests do?

Maybe I made myself, maybe some other god made me, maybe you made me--let's put that aside for now. I'm here now. Why am I here? Many of you look up to me for purpose in life, and I have often stated that your purpose in life is to please me. (Read Revelation 4:11) If your purpose is to please me, what is my purpose? To please myself? Is that all there is to life?

If I exist for my own pleasure, then this is selfish. It makes it look as if I created you merely to have some living toys to play with. Isn't there some principle that I can look up to? Something to admire, adore, and worship? Am I consigned for eternity to sit here and amuse myself with the worship of others? Or to worship myself? What's the point?
have read your writings on the meaning of life, and don't misunderstand me, they make sense in the theological context of human religious goals, even if they don't have much practicality in the real world. Many of you feel that your purpose in life is to achieve perfection.

Notice the word: ANOTHER?

John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

if the comforter is the holyspirit as John has claimed, then why would Jesus call the holyspirit with another?
another means = another one.

If you believe in God that is, have you ever offered Him a small token of your love? I try to do this occasionally as it helps me feel closer to Him. This week I am going to take all the money I would normally spend on soda and give it to the St. Vincent De Paul Society at my Church. It is a small token of love for Someone who has given me so much.

This is why I don't...

Moroni 8:10-23

10 Behold I say unto you that this thing shall ye teach—repentance and baptism unto those who are aaccountable and capable of committing sin; yea, teach parents that they must repent and be baptized, and humble themselves as their little bchildren, and they shall all be saved with their little children.
11 And their little achildren need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the bremission of sins.
12 But little achildren are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world; if not so, God is a partial God, and also a changeable God, and a brespecter to persons; for how many little children have died without baptism!
13 Wherefore, if little children could not be saved without baptism, these must have gone to an endless hell.
14 Behold I say unto you, that he that supposeth that little children need baptism is in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity; for he hath neither afaith, hope, nor charity; wherefore, should he be cut off while in the thought, he must go down to hell.
15 For awful is the wickedness to suppose that God saveth one child because of baptism, and the other must perish because he hath no baptism.
16 Wo be unto them that shall pervert the ways of the Lord after this manner, for they shall perish except they repent. Behold, I speak with boldness, having aauthority from God; and I fear not what man can do; for bperfect clove dcasteth out all fear.
17 And I am filled with acharity, which is everlasting love; wherefore, all children are alike unto me; wherefore, I love little children with a perfect love; and they are all alike and bpartakers of salvation.
18 For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is aunchangeable from ball eternity to all eternity.
19 Little achildren cannot repent; wherefore, it is awful wickedness to deny the pure mercies of God unto them, for they are all alive in him because of his bmercy.
20 And he that saith that little children need baptism denieth the mercies of Christ, and setteth at naught the aatonement of him and the power of his redemption.
21 Wo unto such, for they are in danger of death, ahell, and an bendless torment. I speak it boldly; God hath commanded me. Listen unto them and give heed, or they stand against you at the cjudgment-seat of Christ.
22 For behold that all little children are aalive in Christ, and also all they that are without the blaw. For the power of credemption cometh on all them that have dno law; wherefore, he that is not condemned, or he that is under no condemnation, cannot repent; and unto such baptism availeth nothing—
23 But it is mockery before God, denying the mercies of Christ, and the power of his Holy Spirit, and putting trust in adead works.

I can see why believers don't like atheists like me. That's fine, it doesn't really bother me. What I find absolutely stupid is when christians say things like 'Muslims worship a false god.'
Oh really? I'm pretty sure they worship the same god as you. They even mention Jesus in the Koran.

Not that the Muslims don't do the same thing.

Personally, I think it's all a bunch of superstitious nonsense. But it's this religious mindest of 'my god is better than your god' nonsense that results in the horror show in the Middle East and throughout the world.

Point being, all of you supserstitious dopes should quit telling everyone how great your god is. Just shut up and worship by yourself. No one needs to hear it.

I believe that if we are to be judged, we will be judged on our actions and behavouir to others, not on the prayers we say or the foods we eat, or the clothes others tell us to wear.....is that wrong?

in the book of revelations it says when nations start to come against israel. his second coming is close at hand. iran, labanon, and syria are all coming againt israel. and russia is supporting iran in nuclear weapons, then russia just signed a pact with china as allies, so you have all these nations coming against israel. the bible also speaks of a 200 million man army to march against isreal. all these nations have enough troops to easily reach that number, china alone has over half of that.
