Da_Lizard: Yeah, yeah, yeah! I already know that's what Christians think! It's been brainwashed into your mind again and again. BTW, it is only Muslim extremists, who give other Muslims a bad rep. Most of the Muslims I know are all for peace!!! Grow a brain and start thinking for yourself!

Lampoilman: So I am being ignorant, when Christians tell me that I am going to hell (regardless of what kind of person I am) simply because I choose not to take Christ as my personal savior?

BTW, more people have died by the hands of Christians than by the hands of Muslims!

I think what she is trying to say is SOME right winged Christians. I have no idea why they are so biased. I think it has nothing to do with Christianity at all but the individuals personality. Some people are stubborn and are absolutely not open to any kind of discussion questioning their beliefs. It may seem threatening to them or even blasphemous. However I am a Christian and I am also left wing. I feel if someone has anything intelligent to say about my belief in God or Jesus Christ then I will hear them out. If my religion is correct it should withstand any investigation by non believers, Jews and so on. Basically I'm open to any religious discussion. Perhaps if more people shared the same attitude we wouldn't have so many rude answers here on yahoo.

Jews are condemned to hell, unless they repent and accept Jesus Christ as their savior.
True, Jesus was a Jew, and for more than 50 years after his death, Christianity was an offshoot of the Jewish religion, but it no longer is, since the Jews do not believe that Christ was the son of God, nor was he the long awaited "Messiah".
As for right-wing Christians being the biggest hypocrites, how about the Muslims, who belive in Islam, which means Peace, yet going about blowing themselves up in order to kill anyone within range?

You don't even know enough to know that you know nothing. Seriously; of all the possible objections to Christianity these points show a complete ignorance of Christian theology. It is obvious that you have no understanding of mainstream Christian thought on any of these points and believe that you are presenting new and insightful ideas. Trust me- you aren't. Why don't you study a subject before coming to a decision? It is obvious that you have made assumptions based on ignorance and hatred instead of reasoned thought and study.
It is a common tactic to attack opponents as morally or mentally inferior when you yourself are unable to systematically challenge an opposing position. When you mature you will realize the difference between a question and a rant; logic and chaos, reason and insult.
I am not just defending Christianity here. I am defending the scientific process of logic and argument. Please take a class in Logic at your local college. You will hopefully understand what it takes to present a reasoned and logical position based on deductive and inductive principles first laid down by the Greek philosophers of over two millennia ago
An example of your misconception is that mainline Christians believe that all Jews are condemned to Hell. Did you know that there are thousands of practicing Jews that believe in Jesus as their savior? They are called "Messianic Jews." All mainline denominations that I am aware of accept Messianic Jews as "saved." Additionally; it is true that they believe that you being a good person won't get you into heaven, but it is ALSO true that they believe that being a good person won't get THEM into heaven either. Understanding that fine point might make their stance a little less offensive to you.
As a final point -Christianity IS offensive; it is suposed to be offensive. Jesus said it would be. He said that people would curse and kill those who spread the Gospel. Who wants to hear that al the good things that they do aren't good enough? Who wants to hear that they are not the final judges of their own fate? It is an offensive proposition. Being offensive, however, isn't in itself enough to make it right or wrong.

Don't you just hate it when they use broad, blanket statements to describe people? They make assumptions about who these other people are and what they believe. Then they try to force their mis-informed, uneducated beliefs down our throats!! They point fingers and then do the exact same thing that they are complaining about!!!
Hey, wait a minute.... I just described you!!! I guess that make you the hypocrite.

Christianity came to replace judaism. I think their hyprocricy lies in the fact that their all for "jesus loves us all, mercy, forgiveness...blahblah blah" but they support a right wing Nazi like bush who has killed 120000 Iraqis.

They are hypocrites basically because they are mentally inferior. They are incapable to grasp the hypocrasy of their religion because their minds are not as trained and developed as a true liberal mind. I think of them as baboons.
