I just find it intruiging that when the war in Iraq started and thousands of innocents were killed, that time most media did not bother to emphasise these innocent killings. But when the reverse happens, there is a huge attention esp from the media!!! No wonder people are biased about Islam! This surely is propaganda? What is your opinion?

3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and[a] adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

James 4:3-4 (New King James Version)

Is it adultery to become friends with a non-Christian? Does it make you an enemy of God?

Imagine that.

Luke 8 (New King James Version)
39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.”
Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. 41 You do the deeds of your father.”
Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

I know that the bible says God knitted us in our mother's womb, but does it say anything else about if he knows us before we're born...did my daughter already talk to God before I got pregnant, was she an angel? (Christian answers only please, I know other religions are different.)

How did we lose the beauty of our Creation we live in? We persecute the atheists and the pagans and the wiccans for loving the earth...when all the while the Bible is packed with verses that say the moon and sun sing, the birds bring the prophets food, the earth helps us and keeps us safe from the devil ( Revelations 12 ) and that all the stars are there for us to navigate this beautiful green crucible we live in. Why did we lose the magic ? Well, I didnt. The face of Jesus is shining on me thru them all and I am dancing with Him thru it now.....in worship of Him I am adoring the moon, smiling at the sun and watching the humming birds feed on our back yard.....

54 Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is. 55 And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is. 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

Luke 12:51-56 (New King James Version)

The language on this Jesus! Calling people hypocrites because they can tell when rain is coming but they can "not discern this time"

Last week I got King James Version (text) of bible from internet, I am not a religious person, and I read a few chapters of this e-bible

Today I get a text version of Quran, I read only two lines of this e-quran also, and the second line was like this.

"Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds;"

As both these e-books are in text format, I used MS word to search words like "LORD" and "GOD"

And conclusion was this. When Quran speaks about God, it says "The Lord of the worlds"

And when bible (King James Version) Speaks about God it says "The Lord of Israel"

Can anyone explain why the creator of the universe calls himself "The God of Israel"?

Or just give some verses from other version of bible where they described God as the God of the universe.

Your help will be appreciated as I don’t have much free time to check all versions of bible, one by one.

Thank you.

22But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Matthew 5:22 (King James Version)

So Jesus is saying if you call someone a fool, you are in danger of hell. Sounds to me like he is saying . . . Don't tell people they are a fool.

39And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

40Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
Luke 11:39-40 (King James Version)

Jesus just called the Pharisees fools. Why? Isn't this hypocritical?

If we are to look to this parable and take it as it stands, is the ability to reason a talent? Wouldn't the same rules apply to that, as to any other talent? Would ignoring your ability to reason be a sin against God?

i was deployed to iraq and we were attacked. 6 or 7 mortars exploded in our camp. i was walking to my tent and the explosions just started ripping through...it was like a movie. one exploded like 10 feet from me, the flame was like 40 ft high. part of the shrapnel struck a fuel cow and that ignited and set most of the tents on fire.

on that same deployment, our convoy was attacked. we pulled up next to this village in tikrit, which was a bad idea in the first place. then they started lighting us up. i could hear bullets ricocheting off the 5-ton. i rolled underneath and was waiting for the command to fire back but it never came. we just laid there forever.

sometimes i wonder how and why i made it out of there. and when i met my fiancee, i realized that was why i was saved. i was gonna meet that girl and marry her. shes my purpose. i was wondering how many of you have had near death experiences and has it changed the way you look at things? do u know why u were saved?
