We are all one heartbeat or one breath away from death. We have to have faith that when our number is up that we have lived our lives to His satisfaction. We have to have faith that we have done our best to please Him in His glory. We are not promised a tomorrow. So we have to do our best every moment we have and thank Him for everything.

I had a heart attack at 43. I often wonder why, especially when depression starts to attack me, however; I know there is a reason. A reason I might never understand until I stand before our Lord, but that is fine too. I do the best I can and I honestly try to treat everyone with the dignity and respect they are entitled to.
It has changed the way I look at life and death- of course losing my parents also made me look at death differently.
In your case, living with honor and honoring those who did not make it would be a reason for life.

It was October when i had my last baby. a week later i started bleeding to death. They rushed me in the operation room. I could feel my life draining away. The Dr. even told my Family, i would not live. I remember waking up, after the surgery. It was the hand of God who healed my body. The DR"s done all they could do, but God reached down, and done the rest. I am saved. I was ready to go. It was not my time to die. God has a reason for me to be still living. Each breath is a Blessing from the Lord.

Twice: Pneumonia, my breathing stopped and the second was in childbirth - complications and hemmorage. Why was I saved? I really can't tell you, but I do know that the near deaths were life changing. I appreciate people more and have tried to live my life as a kind and caring person. I never saw any white light, but I did experience the 'floating to the ceiling and looking down on myself'. It's frigtening, yet intriguing.
BTW, your stories are frightening. I'm so glad you're still here with us. Thanks for what you did for our country.

Like you my friend, while in Iraq, my humvee was hit by an IED. It knocked us for a good one, but we made it back. I was almost hit by a mortar while out for a run one evening also, but luckily for me, they have some bad aim. I think that is why i was saved, poor training from our enemy, but no it really hasn't changed the way i look at life. I just think thats the way things go sometimes.

I have been robbed at gunpoint twice. I was in an accident - a roll over, was thrown out of the vehicle. A friend who was sitting next to me also got thrown clear and died in surgery.
