I've called it "intellectual dishonesty" , because I think they know better than to do that, but will not admit it. Also, reason is, because of all the amazing facts about the Bibe, among other things. Fairytales have nothing that can compare to the Bible. The bibles history, helpfulness to people, #1 bestseller of all time, proofs of inspiration, ect.....

I haven't listened to Christian Rock in a long time, since living and working with the likes of Rez Band and Petra, but I am shocked at the state of it these days. I heard these lyrics on a popular christian song the other day, and was dumbstruck:

I wanna get down on my knees and start pleasing Jesus!
I wanna feel his salvation all over my face!
Strike us in the head with thy great rod mighty sheppard,
inject thy sheep with thy faith!

That just doesn't sound right to me, how about you?

I understand it may not be your choice and against your religion but why campaign to take away the rights of others to do as they choose? Is it not very arrogant to assume you are right and everyone else is wrong?

Does God know what we are going to do before we do it? Does he know the life that we will live in the future? God gives us choices and we choose. Does he know what we are going to choose before we even choose?

I saw this as an answer on another question:

"You think that you are funny, and like all comedians you will be laughing your behind off while swimming around in the lake of fire for all eternity. repent, and come to Jesus before it is too late"

Apparently god has zero sense of humor. Why would he give humans the ability then? Doesn't heaven sound really boring?

Numbers 22:27 And when the *** saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the *** with a staff.
22:28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ***, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
22:29 And Balaam said unto the ***, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
22:30 And the *** said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ***, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay.

I've already heard the Christian viewpoint a million times over, I used to be one, my whole family is Christian. I'm not a Christian, and don't want to be again so please, no preaching.

What I'm interested in is what the viewpoint is from people of other faiths: buddhists, atheists, wiccans, muslims, jews, etc. about the world ending. Do you believe in anything like this or is it a bunch of hooey?

Smith was originally an anti-Scottish Rite Freemasonry. Its been said that the Mormon church will be christened the official church of the New World Order because of their totally successful brainwashing techniques over the masses. Is this scary or what?
Even the atheists don't stand a chance. No offence to anyone.

...they are so similar in the aspect of their beliefs? Obviously they do not believe the same things, but they are both following a belief of absolutes. As any reasonable person can tell you, there is no absolute proof of God, or abscence there of. So, I find them to hold the same amount of arrogance in their beliefs being right (just opposite ends of the spectrum). It is just foolish to put your entire faith into something which has not and cannot be proven true. Shouldn't we all just accept that we do not know of God, and call ourselves Agnostic?

I am going to write a book (another book)!
It will be called 'Anti Holy' and as the vast majority of religious argument uses the Bible as "positive proof" of the exsistence of God, my book will have chapter and verse to prove there is no God.
For example:- From the Anti Holy Book Chapter 17 of the book of Joe Bloggs, "Woe unto he that believeth in a God of any kind, for surely he will perish in the very depth of the mud pit!!"
Just as believable as the Bible don't you think?
Who are you to contradict it??
I think I could be on a winner here, then instead of me just saying 'the Bible is full of BS, I could provide 'concrete proof' of written evidence.
Will you buy my upcoming book??

2006-07-28 05:59:19 · 20 answers · asked by budding author 7

Personally, I need contradictors so that I get rid of what is incoherent in what I believe in.

Then, I only keep the "core" I need to feel inside, my "faith".

How about you?

The literal words are not changed by any context.
Paul is not Jesus. What Paul later said is irrelevant.
Using the Christian's assertion that these words are literally infallible, the only "reasonable" explanation is that Jesus meant EXACTLY what he is purported to have said.

Golly, looks like Jesus want nothing to do with christians--or any other non-Jew. THATS WHAT HE SAID.

It's not that they're saying it completely wrong (but not completely correct either), it's just that when it comes to something as important as this they care more....right?
here are some diffrences for example:
David = Daoud (pbuh) (pronounced Da'wood)
Jesus (pbuh) = (pronounced Eï 'ssa) etc...
I'd dare the world to prove me wrong if you're doubting it...
So "How come people from the west civilisations don't call the prophets (pbut) by their original Arabic names?"
