Whenever I answer a question like this, I'm deeply aware that someone may be reading this who is seriously contemplating suicide—and I would do everything in my power to convince them not to take that final, drastic step. With Christ there is always hope.

God loves them; He loves them so much that Jesus Christ was willing to die on the cross for their salvation. And others care about them, as well (even if they have a hard time believing it). Suicide is never God's will, and even in the midst of life's worst storms we can look to Christ and discover that He truly is "an anchor for the soul, firm and secure" (Hebrews 6:19). The first step back from the brink of suicide is to turn to Christ and open our hearts to Him.

Suicide is always a tragedy—but in itself it is not the unpardonable sin. The only sin God cannot pardon is the sin orejecting Him. God knew your friend's heart, and He also knows that various things sometimes clouds a person's judgment so much that they aren't fully responsible for their actions.

At the same time, ask God to help you be sensitive to the needs of others—especially someone who may be facing discouragement or depression. Often simply knowing that someone cares will help them turn the corner.

No, she is not damned. I don't think God turns his back on those that are in so much mental and emotional pain. He actually opens his arms a little wider.I don't believe in sin and a God that judges some worthy of his love and others not. My grandmother committed suicide and I remember how much it hurt to hear people saying she wouldn't get into heaven. She was a good catholic. Then my grandfather had to fight to have her declared mentally ill as if God cares about what people down here think. No one will ever no 100% what is in the hearts and minds of others. No one can judge whether a person is good enough for heaven. That is not even for them to say. Trust that you will see your friend again and that she is well aware of your love for her.

I found someone dead after committing suicide 4 months ago. It was very traumatic on both myself and my 19 year old son. This man had been renting the basement from me and we hadn't heard anything from him in a couple of days or heard any type of movement. My lady suggested that I should check on him. After knocking on his door and not getting an answer I yelled downstairs as lights were on. I had a gut instinct that something wasn't right and when I went to bottom of stairs found this man laying there with pills encircling his body. Yelled upstairs for my son to call 911 and he came down to see what was happening and called.

This poor man had been suffering for years with various forms of depression and seasonal affective disorder. He had split up from his girlfriend and didn't really have a lot of friends.

I do not believe that either this man or your friend is damned for taking their lives. But do hope that they are in a better place and happier than when they were here.

Damned? Well, did she accept the blood of Jesus Christ for the atonement for her sins at some point, and still believe? Everyone dies with some sin in their heart that they have forgotten to repent for. People die dialy in car wrecks, etc. without a quick prayer of repentance for their sins... Is going out cursing someone for pulling out in front of you in traffic causing the wreck the person dies in going to send them to hell? Is suicide any different than yelling obsenities.... Well, some sins are 'weightier,' the Word says, but point being that when we die, as long as we accepting the free gift of salvation, then the blood of Christ is there for us. Being ready when we go means to know that the blood of Christ is there for our forgiveness... And yes the Word says that those that keep the Commandments are called the greatest in heaven, so those that don't must be the smaller angels... who knows... there is a heirarcy though since we know about Arch Angels having more power and authority. They probably made it in, just might not be an arch Angel yet... hmmm... just an opinon. My friend who died and came back to life, whom she is now a preacher, said that she was taken up to God, and the question put to her is 'what did you do with my son Jesus?'

Is she damned?

Not at all!

The only time that there are problems from suicide is when the person doing it is trying to escape from a problem or responsibility that would be resolved if he or she were to stay in the body and tough it out.

There is absolutely no karmic debt involved with suicides that are based in responsibility.

Let me give you an example derived from hypnotic regression research...

There is the true story that occurred in the Second World War about an American prisoner of war in a Japanese concentration camp. The Americans were advancing and the prison guards - who were sadistic to the prisoners - knew it wouldn't be long before they lost and the POW's would be released. So what they started to do is kill the prisoners.

One of those American prisoners, to escape the guards, committed suicide by eating broken glass. He left his body and saw an angelic being who told him that he would not be punished for taking his life but that the Japanese guards would be punished later on - after they left their bodies.

Acts of heroism and chivalry also point to no karmic complications from suicide. Like if someone sacrifices his or her life in order to save another, as in saving someone from a burning building or throwing oneself on a live hand grenade in combat to save one or more buddies.

I am also a spiritual medium. My Guides say that the person you are referring to is fine, very relieved that her chronic and oppressive pain is over (as well as her loneliness), and is also happy to be free once more.

Faith and love only comes to those who god favors.

A year ago my ex-girlfriend and I were drinking and fighting. We both had been sober in AA before, but we started drinking together.

Anyway, she left me almost 1 year to the day today. We both went back to AA. Because she's a pretty girl lots of people rallied around her to support. All the men wanted to sleep with her, and some of them convinced her to do it.

She's sober, happy, and has a new boyfriend - my old sponsor. Go figure huh?

I went back the same day. No one shook my hand. No one said hello. No one welcomed me except during the obligitory 'hi bill' at all AA meetings.

I have not made a single friend. The people who I thought were my friends, are hers. Many of the men I used to hang out with have either dated her or tried to.

Tommorow, the her actualy anniversary, I have decided to hang myself at right around the time she left.

God does play favorites. Maybe god didn't like her either.

I believe that only God knows the answer to that but I don't believe that God is a heartless being. I know that God is compassionate and He, only, decides who enters the kingdom of Heaven. I know there are those who are very faithful and believe Judas Iscariot is in Heaven. My minister once lost a very dear friend to suicide and for a long time she worried and was upset about this very thing but then she realized that God is merciful and He knows that there are times when things can be overwhelming and overburdening to us. Don't worry...God judges us by our hearts and if your friend was a good person as you say, that is what God has judged them for, not necessarily their final moments in life. God bless!

Was she Christian? By best friend who was a Christian had a huge battle from her old life of sin. One day it all got to her, but I know she was saved... Not just because it makes me feel better. I know because I was there, I saw the look in her eye. If your friend asked Jesus into her heart and confessed with her mouth she'll be in heaven.Have you done that...... If not, it is the best thing that will ever happen to you... God bless.........

well in islam taking one's life is a sin because it means that that person has lost faith in the mercy of God and therefore does not believe in Him anymore.. even if she had really horrible circumstances, she should know hat God created her and therefore loves her. how can she thing God has forgotten about her, everything happens for a reason and we dont necessarily have to know that reason to believe in Him and trust Him
ishmeal tusted his father abraham when he told him that he would slaughter him becuas eit was the will of God, and he was saved in the end. does that not give us any proof that we should blindly trust God's actions even though we dont always understand them, as long as we have come to the complete iunderstanding and belief in our religion and not see anything that contradicts it

Do you think sick people go to hell because they are sick? No. This person was sick mentally..meaning unable to continue life as it was. God is merciful and kind. did they ever call on the name of Jesus? You know on the cross Jesus breathed out his last breath. He did it. Noone took his life..He gave it. Give that thought. God dosn't condemn those who can't understand or are mentally off. Read, you will get comfort.
