Our problems is our gov't officials don't humble themselves and cry out to God.
2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Christians should be more involved in politics! We are to be salt (used as a preservative) and light to a decaying and dark world. Let's wake up and speak up.

The 'church' is supposed to be political. In the old covenant the law given by God, and the judges appointed, was all the political leadership there were. Our government, with a system of judges, and all of our laws, were taken from Judaism. Our founding fathers quoted from the Bible in every single session they had when laying out our government (and yes they were on government lands when they did so...). We go to the Bible for wisdom, with out those that know the sciptures to go to to ask for guidance in political sitations then you turn to those in the dark. The blind leading the blind is politics without the Word of God. The governments that did not seek the search the scriptures in governing the nation all went belly up.

That is the fruitage they bear.
Jesus said to judge a tree by it's fruitage.
Churches sponsor and support man's governments rather than Christ's. They support the very same governments that will war with Jesus Christ as shown in Revelation.
As shown in1 Cor. 15, Jesus will wipe out all of man's governments on earth.
Some versions call it government, some call it 'all rule, authority and power', and so on. The Charles Williams version printed by the Moody Bible College uses all those word in 1Cor 15:24
His Kingdom will then be the authority, rule and power for eternity.

No, government is getting too 'churchy'. If they would leave this 15th century style of thinking, and look at issues in a realistic manner and stop listening to the 'bible beater' types, this would be a much nicer, more peaceful world. Religion has it's place, and it's on sunday morning.

the 1st modification of the optimal regulation interior the country... "Congress shall make no regulation with regard to the respecting a company of religion, or prohibiting the loose exercising thereof; or abridging the liberty of speech; or of the clicking; or the proper of the human beings to peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." So, church homes can do/say/print regardless of they choose. if your church is LDS, they do no longer look to be passing out McCain/Palin posters. individuals may well be, however the church isn't. they may well be advising you to alter into lively in help of 8, because of the fact the church does no longer advise gay marriage. yet returned, individuals would be those passing that out, no longer the Lds church.

I don't go to church to hear a political speech. I can stay home and get rhetoric from the liberal media. On the other hand, I don't know why we should limit a person's right to free speech just because they are Catholic.

Yes. The Christian Church should not try to draw political boundaries but to help Jesus Christ save souls.
