I am going to write a book (another book)!
It will be called 'Anti Holy' and as the vast majority of religious argument uses the Bible as "positive proof" of the exsistence of God, my book will have chapter and verse to prove there is no God.
For example:- From the Anti Holy Book Chapter 17 of the book of Joe Bloggs, "Woe unto he that believeth in a God of any kind, for surely he will perish in the very depth of the mud pit!!"
Just as believable as the Bible don't you think?
Who are you to contradict it??
I think I could be on a winner here, then instead of me just saying 'the Bible is full of BS, I could provide 'concrete proof' of written evidence.
Will you buy my upcoming book??

I like it all so far 'Anti Christ'!
How can you not believe look around you!!thats a classic!
And a really good one "You could never write a book to rival the Bible" very true I wish I could, but I've never been much good at Sci Fi, or fairy tales, there is certainly a market out there for that stuff though is'nt there?
I'm not sure I could slot Alf Garnet in but I'll give it a shot!

Well, i feel very sorry for you. for one, that you are so lost religiously and two, that it may not be your fault if you didn`t have a sound religous orientation.
No, i would not buy your book and won`t even take a look at it if i saw it.
And ofcourse God will forgive you for your ignorance thats why he is called compassionate and merciful.
Whatever reason you have for not believing in him could still be changed.
There is every reason to believe in God. Take a look around you. The way the the universe is formed, the way we humans and animals are formed, plants and all. The cycles day and night, rain and sunshine, cultivation and harvest, the rise and fall of tides of the seas and ocean and rivers. Have you ever been pregnant, and wonder about the development of the feutus in your belly? I know you would want to call all that evolution but my dear think again.
You want to write a book like the bible? then try it baby. lets see if you will make it in your life time.
The bible is a book writen by people who where inpsired by God and he used his holy spirit to guide them all through it. so sweetie you can`t top it.
And ofcourse, the bible is used as reference most of the time. thats because the wisdom found in it is incomparable. you can`t top it, can`t change it. its here for good.
And my dear, the moment you start believing in God, you will start noticing changes in your life positive changes.
May God deliver you.

HMMMM!!!!
Why quote from the Bible to prove a point?

Well! Well!! Well!!!...Simply because, the Bible is the best , it is the most complete and insightful book where every thing that's presently an coming to happen in the world takes its bases...just check out everything that's happening today in the world, the Bible had already predicted it including your activities as an antichrist. an I will never buy Your book cos its gonna offer me nothing but destruction

God's word is the highest authority available to humankind. It is the only authority with which any point can be proved or disproved. As an author you should do well as a member of the Antichrist's staff---that is until he decides that he no longer has a use for you and puts you before one of his firing squads. Rather than write a book bashing the Bible and God, Seek Jesus. Open your heart to him and let the Holy Spirit lead you to Christ. Jesus loves you.

No. I imagine it's been done at least once before.

Besides, as a Catholic I follow the Church and its tradition as a whole, not "the Bible alone".

Such a book will only appeal to opponents of very strict Protestants, so I suggest you either:

a) give it up and pursue a more life-affirming career, leaving religious fundamentalists to their quarrels

or

b) find a religion that at least has convincing arguments and a sense of humour, and spend your time and effort in a good-natured argument with them ;)

I will not buy your book, but you're correct. Biblethumpers try to prove the bible to be true by quoting from it. BS. If this worked, I'd become a scientist and the perpetuum mobile would suddenly exist.

You're right, it's a somewhat circular argument:

I believe in God because of what it says in the Bible.
I believe that the Bible is the word of God.
Therefore I believe in God because of what it says in the Bible.

But if you DON'T believe in God, a book that is supposedly His word is hardly likely to convince you is it?

There's no reasoning with these people, they are strangers to reason...

A question, would I have to quote the "Anti Holy" book to make my point?
