I understand it may not be your choice and against your religion but why campaign to take away the rights of others to do as they choose? Is it not very arrogant to assume you are right and everyone else is wrong?

Just to let you know, I have had one, through my own choice and yes, it was horrible, but it was the right choice (for me)

If you are forced into it then it reflects your lack of self confidence/conviction - did they hold you down and force the needle into you?
If you didn't like the people you were around change them - it wouldn't have been easy but do-able.

Thunderwear - exactly, let them look at ALL the options, abortion, adoption, no woman has a termination without a great deal of thought and if you think they don't consider all options you are sorely mistaken.

Its called free will, the god they decided to worship gave it to all of us. Aren't they just slapping him in the face and saying he made the wrong choice by giving it to us all, when they try to strip it away from the women who are choosing to have abortions. It is extremely arrogant, so much so that they are defying their god....LOL. Isn't THAT some sort sort of sin? I think they are all going to burn for that....LOL

People who are pro-life, such as myself, believe that abortion is murder. I am very sorry that you had an unplanned pregnancy, and wish you would have chosen a different option. I don't believe you intentionally did anything wrong, but taking the life of an unborn child so that you could continue to live your life was wrong. We try to eliminate abortion so those children can have a chance at life.


And as far as I know, in this country (the US) abortion is legal until the baby is born. I think there is still an injunction against the partial birth abortion ban, but I'm not sure about that.

I know I really hate that some people can't let other people make up their own minds about stuff. If someone knows they won't be able to give their child a very good life then they should be able to make that decision by themselves. At least anti abortion protesters are usually non violent. I hate the hypocriticism of some animal rights protesters who complain about abuse to animals by attacking other human beings, can't they see they're being hypocritical? Do the anti abortion protesters realise that they are probably going to have pay for the unwanted non aborted children's lives through taxes?

Most people (myself included) respect the dignity of life - you could say that all people are pro-life - but some people feel that pro-choice is just as important. Especially when it cannot be accurately determined exactly when life begins.

Some folks feel that the only way to display morality is through legislation rather than education - those are the ones that want the abortion laws changed (read as "outlaw abortions").

I look at it three ways:

1. People have the right to abortion. If the only reason people don't want abortion is religious, then why do they want laws? Church and state should be separate, but it doesn't always work that way.

2. If there is a law that allows abortion, you can choose abortion or not to abort. But, if there are laws making it illegal, you cannot choose abortion.

3. Legal abortion is safe. If it is illegal and you want to abort, it is VERY unsafe, and you risk your own death.

we're aren't imposing christianity on others, meaning we aren't trying to get people to be christian by banning abortion. and we aren't sayng we're right. we're saying that abortion isn't the only alternative. by banning abortion, it will force women to look at other options, like adoption. i personally think that having legal abortions is causing women to NOT have to take responsibility for her actions. "oops, i'm pregnant. i'll just kill my baby and it will be like it never happened." a baby can feel pain, has a heart beat, and brainwaves after just a few weeks, and that is when most women find out they are pregnant. it feels, it grows, yet it's not a life? plain and simple: abortion is murder, and it needs to be stopped.
also, abortion can be very harmful. studies are coming out showing that abortion increases chances of becoming sterile, can increase risks of certain cancers, and causes depression. it just isn't safe, and it isn't the only way to go. people are waiting around the world, including here in the US, to adopt babies, yet people don't put them up for adoption because they have dumb excuses like "kids in adoption agencies have horrible lives." i know many people who were adopted, and one of my cousins is adopted. i love those people so much and i can't think about life without them. whether you call it a "fetus" or not, it's a human being, and no human being has the right to die because they were a mistake.

and lunifritz, according to www.census.gov, with a birth every 8 seconds and a death every 11 seconds, the worlds population is booming, increasing a staggering less than 1% every year. whatever will we do?

ADDITIONAL: I was put in a postion whether to abort my son who was not growing correctly, the doctors said that I should consider abortion (I was not a Christian at the time, I was an Atheist 1976) I chose not to, I wanted to give my child a chance at life..

My son is now a proud single father, he Loves his little girl with all of his heart..my precious little grandaughter Ava would not be here today, had I made the decision to give up, just because I had a choice..to me there is only One choice..and that is to save a life, not destroy them.. :(

i don't agree with abortion if you have unprotected sex in this day and age you can go and get the morning after pill. the abortion limit in this country if 26 weeks the foetus is fully formed and could have a very small chance of survival outside the womb. I object to doctors dissecting the foetus cutting its arms legs etc off then sucking it out with a hoover like device. It is murder.

Good post. People like "thunderwear" care too much about what others do. How is it their business to tell me what I do with my body! They should stay out of it, if they don't like it, they should look away and focus on preventing unwanted pregnancies.
I mean she wrote

And I write: Who cares, thunderwear, how is it your or anyones business to judge and stop women from their freedom of choice.

I suppose it is just based on how you view abortion. I am not particulary against abortion but i know that many people view it as murder, and you could not use the same argument to justify that.

In my opinion I think that abortion should be an option, but only as a last resort.

It is vital that abortion is legal. Otherwise, you will have too many 'back alley' abortion clinics that are harmful to people. And with the world's population growing WAY too large, I encourage as many people as possible to have an abortion.
