I was a baptist for all my childhood and was baptized when I was 15, and everything fell apart after that. I'm 18 now and realize Satan's true power and I feel a strong pull to become a catholic. How do I go about doing this?

If not, then is this one of many examples where religion/theology and science/philosophy can coexist, as Aquinas and Averroes argued?

"Newton wrote the 'Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica', in which he described universal gravitation and the three laws of motion, laying the groundwork for classical mechanics. The unifying and deterministic power of his laws was integral to the Scientific Revolution and the advancement of heliocentrism."

The law of gravity became Newton's best-known discovery.

But he warned against using it to view the universe as a mere machine, like a great clock. He said, "Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done."

He devoted more time to the study of the Scriptures than to science, and said, "I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by those who were inspired. I study the Bible daily."

It's almost impossible to ask this question without someone calling me anti-semetic. But I am going to try.

For the record, I'm an atheist wishing to learn about Christian theology; additionally, I wish my country America would appropriately support the Democracy that is Israel.

My question is this: Before Jesus makes his second return, is it Biblical prophesy that the state of Israel be destroyed? If so, please explain this to me using Bible references so I can read them and understand.

I ask because I heard this on Air America's Randy Rhodes show yesterday and don't like "only hearing one side". I agree with the liberal position regarding "appropriate support"; and not the current neo-conservative foreign policy's support of Israel.

Which ultimately wins? I only ask because I've recently scene, especially with the current administration, that the Bible is starting to take presidant over the Constitution. Is that right? What do you think?

Examples of current issues raging between the Bible and Consititution:
- Banned Gay Marriages (Bible is winning)
- Prayer in school (Consititution is winning)

If the Quran is the word of god, why does god use different personalities when refering to himself:
1- In some locations [19:67, 19:83, 20:134 ], god refers to himself with the word "WE".
2- In some other locations [3:195, 8:9, 8:12, 20:14,...], god refers to himself with the word "I".
3- In other locations [2:29, 2:37, 2:255, 22:16,...], he refers to himself with the word "HE". He even flatters himself when he says "so bless god the best creator" [23:14].

This confusion in using pronouns led to confusing the reader in many locations in the Quran, especially when god speaks to someone (e.g., the devil) where you find the Quran refers to both of them with the pronoun "HE".

Is there any reason for this confusion in using pronouns?

(P.S. I am talking about the Quran in its ORIGINAL ARABIC version).

Genesis 1:26 God created all races on the sixth day.
Genesis 2:2 God rested on the seventh day.
Genesis 2:5 God "...and there was not a man to till the ground."
Genesis 2:7 God created man (Adam='adam {aw-dawm'}).
Don't forget to keep the subject, Gen 2:5,"...and there was not a man to till the ground."

Genesis 11 is when God divided the languages only, because the people wanted to build a tower up to Heaven; they wanted salvation in their own way.
Keep the subject, Genesis 11:4.

Think about it.

for example: you know the pictures of embryos of different animals? they look very much alike, supporting the theory of evolution. i've heard that people are accusing others of making them look alike just to support evolution. this makes NO sense whatsoever, seeing as millions of scientists around the world have noticed this, and they have nothing to gain from forging them. the only people who have something to lose are those religous people, who will have their beliefs shattered, so they make up those false accusations. is that not a sin, to lie?
anyway, who says we need a god to keep us in line, or a hell to scare us into being good? would we not have it within ourselves to be in the right of our own free will? i would like all of you to answer, those who are religous or otherwise.

They talk in churches love one another, but in reality during slavery to this present time, jews and arabs hate each other in mental and physical war that never end. their actions are the contrary.
They have their agendas, but they are working with politicians to deliver the votes, and other things that is their agenda
They preach lives are precious only god give life and only god should take life, but they pro wars and pro death penalty,
The religious leads know well about the vow give up material things, and accept a vow of poverty like low lever nuns and priests, some of them they have house are like castle, travel in luxury jet only, but they personal wealth are $ 100,000's $ 1,000,000's and 1,000,000,000. I was surprise some of them are billionaire
They preach no sex with out marriage, they have children all over the place in secrecy, they are molesterring kids, when they family sick and have no hope, they end the life, no to other people
