All that metaphysical stuff sure seems legit. Your thoughts?

Most organized religions of today despise the occult, and rail against it.
If you go ask a priest or minister, someone of that nature, they are going to tell you "its the work of the devil".
Much of the occult is legit, some of it is ****! This goes for most things. I would be a liar if I told you there was nothing to be learned from Judaism, or Islam, or Buddhism.
Beware of ego's, and traps. Typically, its the people involved with a thing, that corrupt a thing, beware of the people, that goes for any organization, church, lodge, government (:LOL).
Study reputable works, at least during the first stages.
Dont put too much credence into what one person says, people can be wrong.
The occult is a good way to learn about alot of things, nature, reality, yourself, others, and yes, god.

First, "The Occult" is a Christian codeword for anything that isn't in the Bible.

There is no such thing as 'the occult'. "Occult' simply means "hidden".

But to answer your question, the best way to learn about God (and yourself) is to study and understand a wide variety of religious, metaphysical and philosophical thought. Whether you decide to pursue the many forms of witchcraft, become adept in Hermetic, Alchemical or Kabalistic thought, learn about ancient Egyptian magical practices, join a church and participate in your faith in a mindful manner, or ditch it all and become a Skeptic, the bottom line is that the more you know, the less you fear. The less you fear, the harder it is for the religious charlatans (of all kinds) and other soul predators to take advantage of you.

If you believe in God, you have to realize that Sie gave you a brain to actually use, not to keep your ears apart.

I would say yes. I've been there - some 15 years actually, and there are a lot of things there that become very clear and help one's understanding of God quite well.

Seriously.

Sure, sometimes the cosmology might be a bit different, and sometimes the values might be somewhat different, but "occult" simply means "hidden" and it's investigating that which is not, at first, very clear.

Just avoid the fluffies.

Want to know about The One True God? Read the Bible.
Want to know about Satan? Practice the Occult arts.
God was clear when He said either we are for Him or against Him. There is no middle ground.
I prefer you choose God. John 14:6 and 1 John 2:22

absolute NOT, its a good way to get your self in to lots of problems and lots of fear.. yes there is power that Satan has.. But Got has greater power. Greater is he in you then he in the World, that's if you've accepted Jesus into your heart. He has give you authority over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19. I was raised a Christian but then was kinda pulled into the occult and my curiosity was like yours.. I had a horrible time with being in so much fear.. That it wasn't until I thew away my occult books and other occult stuff, that the fear went away immediately.
I still get tempted to go back that way, but I know it leads to death.. hope this helps :)

This is just my opinion but I believe a person needs to study Theology's of all cultures to get a better view of God. The occult is a selfish way of trying to obtain something, it's not about understanding God.
Although I said it's good to study different Theology's you do need to stay true to your family's and cultures beliefs.

A good way to learn about God is to read his words.

Satan surely would love it if you learned of his, that's why to many people it seems legit, it is, on the dark side for sure.

It is a good way to learn about yourself, anyway. and one must look within themselves to find God.

Of all the people I know, people that believe in the metaphysical are the most accepting of all other people & their beliefs.

I once knew a born again Christian who had tried about every religion out there, including the occult stuff. He said that trying the different ones was important to him.

The occult is a general term applied to a vast range of beliefs, some of them being opposed to each other in there views.
the only things you can truly know about god, is that god is omipotent (all powerfull) omnipresent ( existing everywhere) omniscient ( existing eternally) god is also incomprehendable!
