Prayerfully read your Bible, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in the reading. We know that God isn't like the false gods of other religions. He speaks with a "still, small voice." He doesn't do it with trumpets.
Here are some verses to support my advice: I Kings 19:11-13, Isaiah 55:10-11, and Hebrews 4:12.
Hope you hear Him!

Four keys to hearing God:
Key #1 - God’s voice in our hearts sounds like a flow of spontaneous thoughts. Therefore, when I tune to God, I tune to spontaneity.
Key #2 - I must learn to still my own thoughts and emotions, so that I can sense God’s flow of thoughts and emotions within me.
Key #3 - As I pray, I fix the eyes of my heart upon Jesus, seeing in the spirit the dreams and visions of Almighty God.
Key #4 - Journaling, the writing out of our prayers and God’s answers, provides a great new freedom in hearing God’s voice.

God spoke in times past to the prophets (Hebrews 1:1). He speaks to us today through His Word (2 Peter 1:3). Look to the Bible and not to Rome.

Pray for guidance. Sit and meditate. Listen to what other people say. Pay attention to the situations that come into your life. Being quiet and still and just being. Listening to your intuition. Remember it is "thy will be done". not our will. Life unfolds without our trying to control it. Just asking, he will start answering. It has been my experience that he speaks through others, some times the most unlikely people. Hope that helped-Peace.

Find a pastor, ask him to reveal his annointing, if he can, start from there. People pick up the Bible and get lost all the time. The Bible even states that the proper preacher can guide you. And the lawless preacher will fail you.

The secret of the lord is with those who fear him. read Jeremiah 33 verse 3. There you will see Gods promise, use it in your prayer and he will surely speak with you. though most of us do the talking we don't listen to hear from God, but since that is your desire now, i pray the lord almighty will grant your desire.cheers

Experiment with drugs. The voices you will hear are probably god's many "tongues". You've heard of speaking in tongues right? God made drugs so that we may communicate with him directly.

The best way is to Pray for guidance and do it often. then you have to open your mind and your heart because God works in mysterious ways. but when you start seeing God in everything your prayers will have answers.

Ah, ye of little faith. Just ask to be guided and then act.
The only reason you want to "know" if it's right is because you doubt that God will reveal His will to you. Stop doubting. Ask and act PERIOD.
