As a practical matter, its not important. However, I'd hope you take enough pride in yourself to at least try spell correctly and not purposely throw yourself into the category of moron. Its not like its that hard to spell.

Grammar is very helpful in living a successful life. Even the Bible used grammar and spelling. Without either, it's difficult to communicate.

I have no problems how you spell atheist. It's the sentences into which you insert that word that I have a problem with.

if you are going out of your way to (in a relatively angry way) persuade an atheist that his or her views are wrong and caused by hate you might get a little further by spelling correctly. you probably would not be able to convince one of us anyway, but spelling bad can only hurt your cause.

Yes. Because intellectual integrity is a self-justifying reward. Then again, I don't think a religious person really values things like truth, accuracy, and intellectual excellence.

Sure-good spelling is always important. It doesn't matter what the word is. It is more professional and makes you look better to others, anyway.
