Waxing eloquent on the sins of the flesh, a dynamic young preacher raised himself to his full height, leaned over the pulpit, and boomed, "Brothers and sisters, if there are any among you who have committed adultery, may your tongue cleave to the woof of your mouf."

Unlike man, plants (think sandal wood) have extremely pleasant odours. A rose or a carnation never stinks, despite the fact that it grows in soil and remains in an environment of dust and dirt. However, man can hardly achieve such a permanent fragrance, no matter how much he cares for his body.
Have you ever thought why Man is created with so many weaknesses? Why God created flowers with beautiful fragrances but made the human body prone to produce an unpleasant scent?
The weaknesses of Man are not limited to body odours: he gets tired and hungry, feels weak, gets injured, becomes nauseated, sick...

God give me simple moments as these

That reach my soul and give it ease.

A smile, a touch, a friendly cheer

These lift me up from sheer despair

I find your love in the oddest ways

Darkest nights the difficult days.

Life comes as simple daily things

The flower that blooms the birds that sings.

May I never close my eyes

Let me not think myself too wise.

Thank you God for simple joys

Like the love I have for my boys

What would be preached at your eulogy? What kind of things would be said about you?

My boyfriend and I desperately want to get our relationship right as we both want to get married but not while our relatinship is the way it is - it's not awful! But not great, like it could be - we've not grown much spiritually in two years (I have more than him I think) but he's not that happy in himself - he's slightly overweight (not loads but teeny bit tubby which I love!) He drinks more than he should, he smoked but he's now on a diet and we're heading down a brand new pathway! What can I do to encourage him more & release him more?? He's been asked to go to Egypt for a week in Sept on a conference re addictions - our pastors now asked him to head up an addictions group!!! Yay! So proud & happy for him! Anyway, I desperately want to get closer to God at this time too but I find it hard with the Bible - I mean, where do I start, you know? I tend to read snippets then think that's enough for the day, so my reading's all over the place!

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thx!

My goal today is to make another smile and to brighten the day of someone who was lonely or sad. Just my idea of a goal. What is yours?
Peace Be With You,
Debra

Life is a journey,
We travel differnent roads
but who can say That in the end
They do not converge.
I have found friends
Among many unlikely places
Each is different and unique
And each brings something special
Into my life with the meeting.
I can only hopeThat I have touched their lives
In some small way
The same as they have touched mine.

Here is this Jew trying to preach against some of the things that you have lived with all your life. What reason would you have to believe him? Imagine, if you can, that something similar were to happen now. What reason would you have to believe some wandering loony preaching anything?

I know this is not the case for everyone: But it seems that humans tend to classify people as thinking or behaving a certain way. Why do people do this, instead of realizing that each person is a different individual with thoughts and feelings?

If you don't do this, how do you come to that realization that people are not classified into a nice neat box?

There's a church in Kentucky where the preacher said that God blew up the space shuttle because we're allowing gay marriage. Is the heatwave in the US being caused by God being angry at us too?

I’m the first person (that I know of) to choose Wicca as a religion in my family. I’ve told my Mom about my choice but that’s about it. The rest of my family consist of Southern Baptist and they would never accept my decision. I have always been a solitary witch and I recently got engaged. The mentioning of children has popped up and it has made me start thinking a lot about raising my children to be Wiccan as well. I’m a little nervous because I have no Wiccan friends and I’m afraid that I might mess up. Would joining a coven make being a wiccan parent easier or do you think I should remain solitary and just try my best?

I find myself drifting to other catagories because it seems all the questions are the same. Was wondering if anyone else feel that way and any suggestions on how to make it better? I came up with one if others are game what about bible trivia? For all that wanted to play we could put bible trivia in the subject and take turns asking questions. What do u all think?
