I know this is not the case for everyone: But it seems that humans tend to classify people as thinking or behaving a certain way. Why do people do this, instead of realizing that each person is a different individual with thoughts and feelings?

If you don't do this, how do you come to that realization that people are not classified into a nice neat box?

That Is the plan of the big hitters. They need to sell their weapons of mass destruction to us, so they can enjoy the peace while we are fighting each other. The so-called "Independent Media) is their tool.

To classify, sort, arrange, ... is the tendency of the mind. Mind has but no choice than to classify, measure, etc....

We are not this body nor are we this mind.

The only way to avoid this classification is an open mind.
You can have an open mind only if you know human nature and the mind very well.
If you want to know your mind very well then you have to do meditation with the purpose to control the mind.

Unless you know each individual it is hard not to classify them into a certain group. As for people you know, you tend to be able to classify them diversely.

It's not right to lump people all together. Generalizations do not apply to everyone. Still, many don't take the time and effort to see each person as an individual. God does.

we tend to settle for the simplest method i.e. lumping ppl into categories instead of taking the hard way and realize that ppl arent as what they appear to be? in a sense, it is a generalisation that applies to most ppl in that lump for example, all asians have black hair and more petite etc etc, westerners (here i am, categorizing ppl up) are more open minded etc etc but as globalisation progresses, i dont think we can do the 'lumping thing' anymore. ppl change, society changes

humans, by their very nature, recognize repeated patterns and use them predict the future. We naturally apply this reflex to other people. It takes discipline and foresight to not categorize other people on sight, but it is possible to make this (noble) trait a habit as well (through repetition).

It's hard work to understand and respond to people individually. Pigeon-holing people saves time and effort. I think that's why it happens.
