muslims are proving daily that the Theistic Allah is dead. They think that by been more fundamentalist and extreme that they could bring back allah from the dead.
Rudolph Bultmann wrote 'lets bury the dead god'
dont you think its time muslims bury their dead God and create a new one that gives them hope instead of suicide bombers?

First of all, an example.
Yesterday, I was playing Scrabble on-line. (Yes, my workday gets boring:) I logged in, and the first thing that came up in the chat was this. Direct quote:
"GAYS NEED TO BE SHOT IN THE BACK"
y?
"cuz God will destroy them all. it says so in the bible."
OK. Just so you know where I'm coming from, I am a Christian. I also believe that homosexuality is not the way we were intended to function. And now that we have an example, on to my question...
Why do Christians feel that they need to yell at the top of their lungs about how the entire world is going to hell? Does that accomplish anything? Do you think that someone's going to respond positively to that?? You need some sort of reason to back yourself up, other than text they don't believe.
And the same goes for others. I've noticed many atheists respond to Christian questions with statements such as
"its all lies"
"ur disillusioned"
Why can't we have honest yet open discussion between different sets of beliefs??

playing God? If God wants eveyrone to go to heaven then why is hell set up for so many?
To me it's a one eyed perspective, because the other side of their oh, so loving god is the fact that he set up eternal hell for the majority of mankind, when he could have gone with a system like reincarnation, or something that would have actually saved all men, the way he claims he wants...

According to my Oxford Commentary (secular literary type concerned with proper translation and artistic nature of the piece)there are 3 or 4 sources (New Testament), or several sources or of ancient origin (Old Testament) for the Bible, and many of the historical events (of the old testament) are recorded by non-jews. This indicates for a historian that it is probably accurate. It is how they evaluate ancient historical records. Also, a roman execution record is apparently Jesus'.

I realize you can question my premises, but they seem pretty historically stable.

1) Do you reject the historical information in the Old Testament?
2) Do you reject the existance of a man name Jesus?
3) Do you reject the miraculous parts of the New Testament as conspiracy? Please discuss the circular argument, that if someone witnessed an actual miracle that they likely would have joined the man.

Most of the Atheist philosophy is fairly well laid out, but I couldn't find this.

- The only way we can determine the true age of the earth is for God to tell us what it is. And since He has told us, very plainly, in the Holy Scriptures that it is several thousand years in age, and no more, that ought to settle all basic questions of terrestrial chronology."
[Henry Morris, ICR President,]

"i don't think evolution should be taught as a fact but as a theory that some people believe in. i don't really know about this though, i haven't thought about it really but there's no way it should be taught as the truth." [Mark Goodwin, on talk.origins, 10/17/1994]

GOD IS SWELL

I like god, he is so neat
And he likes to smell my feet
He is good and he is kind
we got in a car crash and I broke my spine
I asked for him to heal my back
but instead I became addicted to crack

Why god, why? I asked the sky
But he doesn't answer, so instead I got high
The preacher says I must give to receive
He says I'm so smart, no way I could be deceived

Then one day I saw praying was useless
and that all the religious threats were toothless
So I became an atheist and everything's fine
and I don't have to give my money to a pixie in the sky

I understand the concept of asking God for forgiveness....it's the "repenting" part I'm having trouble with. As explained in church last Sunday, to repent means to change, to turn away from. In other words....don't do that anymore. My question is: As hard as I try not to commit the same sin again, sometimes I do. How can God continue to grant forgiveness for the same sin over & over? Or does he?

"The blood in any person is in reality the person himself. ... poisons due to personal living, eating and drinking habits ... The poisons that produce the impulse to commit suicide, murder, or steal are in the blood.
