You are soooo confused. That ceremony is to give people who were already married for life, a marriage for eternity (if they want to accept it). It's done by proxy, meaning live people do a lovely little wedding ceremony on behalf of those who have passed on. Again, those who have passed on can reject it if they want, so nothing is being forced on anyone. Hope that helps clarify it a bit.
best wishes.

Hmmmmm... in a way you are right...
While we are living, and if we are worthy to enter the Temple, we may get married in the Temple and be sealed to our spouse for time and all eternity... our marriages do not end at death...
If we are married outside of the Temple... then the marriage ends at death... but... we CAN go to the Temple and have all of the work done for a spouse that has passed away... perhaps one that never felt worthy enough to even try to go to the Temple... and one of the things we can do is be sealed to them for all time and eternity... and have our children sealed to us... so that our family will be together for all time and eternity...
However... these things require us to do all that we can do to follow the commandments ... but we are also promised that our families will be blessed...
So, let's imagine that I get married while I am not worthy to enter the Temple (perhaps I'm not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints yet)... and my spouse dies... then I become worthy and I go to the Temple... I can then do all of the Temple work for my spouse and one of the things that I can do is get sealed to my dead spouse... after all... she is not going to be dead for all eternity...
Jews used to do Temple work too (I'm not sure if they do today or not):
1 Cor 29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
Why do we do this work in the Temple? Because EVERYONE needs to be baptized to enter Heaven... and some were not able to be baptized here on earth for one reason or another... so we are baptized in proxy for them... so that if they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior... they will be able to enter Heaven...

You know it is not nice to make fun of another religion whether we belive in it or not. It isokay to let people know what the other religion does and believes ansd let them decide for themselves. Yes I knew about this and think it is gross and digusting. But it is not a real marriage it is supposed to save the dead persons soul. Unfortunately my grandfather whom I loved dearly was a mormon and he had told me of this. Due to his age when I met him I oculd not get him to believe otherwise. I did not get to meet thim untik he was in his early eighties and only knew him for a few years.

One Q? Do you inherit the dead person's property? Will I get all their wealth? Can I use my partner's bones to feed my dog?

Wow... you're uneducated aren't you? A person can be sealed to somone they were married to, but not in the temple. It binds them for time and all eternity, not just until death do you part.
