Sister Faustina, the polish nun made a saint by Pope John Paul II, had a vision about this subject. In her vision, crowds of people were passing before her going toward two gates. On the left was Jesus calling out to the people, Repent of your sins, accept me as Saviour and enter this gate into paradise. On the right was ole Satan, bellowing to the crowd, Come on in over here and you don't have to do a thing, have a good time with all your friends (or something of the like). Faustina estimated that only 10% chose Jesus while the rest chose Satan.
I've heard this ratio given in hellfire and brimstone sermons but I don't know where the preachers get their numbers from.
In the Gospels, Jesus preached and taught alot more about hell than most people realize. He even said Narrow is the gate to salvation and wide is the road to damnation. Not many will make it to heaven I fear.

You have got to be kidding man!
Tell me you ARE joking!!
If not...you are in need of a good blast on the Internet to read up a bit about reality and especially the reality behind religions!
Good Luck! and OH! Yes.....Heaven and Hell are both found on Earth!

God does not have statistic as to how many people go to Heaven or Hell .He extends his invitation to each every human being, whom He has created for Himself(Heaven). All are meant for heaven. It depends what side you want to be on.If you choose God then try to follow what He wants of you. This is one way to know you are on the way to heaven. But do evefrything to oppose His wishes and plans for you to realize your goal, then don't expect Him to save you.You can decide where you want to go and not God.God cannot save you against your will..

Whether we go to heaven or hell is in God's hands. I don't believe He's ever broken it down into percentages.

We are taught that whoever believes and is baptised shall be saved. Plus who knows, maybe God forgives other people who don't fit this criteria. It would be interesting to know the answer.

I'd hate to even try to figure this out. That's up to God to decide, not me! :)
