I would want them to say: Like Enoch, Brenda walked with God and God took her. And she had this testimony: She pleased God.

I'm writing my own eulogy. They get no option.
"In the hope of sparing some poor slob the silly task of having to lie about someone they knew very little about, I am writing my own “eulogy.”
I should have been a better son, father & husband: some of it was ignorance, but most was character flaws. This is purely informational as I’m unlikely to change my ways now.
I loved and respected many of you, and some generous souls returned these sentiments – I thank them and whatever it was that caused their myopia.
Aside from the loose change I may have left unspent, I hope you remember me as a person dedicated to justice and the pursuit of truth.
Lastly, let me thank my poor wife and kids who’ve put up with me for so many years. It’s these loving people who make it possible for the likes of me to get past the third decade of life. I have always loved them greatly, if not always wisely.
OK. Now you can use up some tissues… BUT I’d like everyone to proceed immediately to the bar without further ado and remind each other of all the ridiculous situations we’ve all found ourselves on our short stay here. So … eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you will .... EAT DRINK AND BE MERRY!
Love,
The dead guy in the bad suit."

I don't really know what would be preached at my eulogy. I think people would say that I loved my daughters more than anything, that I was a pretty good Mom, that I treated others with kindness, and that I made others feel good about themselves.

Well if I died now I know that for 14 years I have given my life to my husband. We have a wonderful marriage. When I was in church I served God fully. But I allowed what I want at my funural is a preaching service. I dont really want things about me said I want Christ to be lifted up.

I do not really know. I love my husband, my sons, and my family. I have some friends. I work with the elderly and I love it. Nursing gives me a chance to show God's love. I hope that when I am gone my family will focus on the positive the good things in my life. The love I have for them and what I tried to do. I also pray they forgive me my shortcomings and my failures. I am only human and I truly have no idea what will be said at my funeral.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

Nobody says anything bad about a dead person in a eulogy. All are safe from that. If they do by chance, you're dead so no big deal.

Mostly good things one would hope BUT remember that funerals are for the living! Everyone has an eternal destination, either heaven or hell, what really matters in the end is did you accept Christ as Savior or not.

Hopefully my favorite quote. Not from any book in the Bible but from a more enlightened book, The Book of Pooh, specifically Pooh's Grand Adventure. "If ever there is a time when we are apart remember you are stronger than you seem, you are braver than you believe, and you are smarter than you think. And if ever you are alone know that I will always be with you."
