In the Quran, Allah orders Muslims to terrorize non-Muslims in His behalf:

"Strike terror (into the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies." Surah 8:60

"Fight (kill) them (non Muslims) and Allah will punish (torment) them by your hands, cover them with shame." Surah 9:14

"I will instil terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them. It is not ye who slew them; it was Allah." Surah 8:12-17

If truth is not relative, how do we know this?

The question comes from so many in our culture (American) stating something similar to 'you have your truth and I have mine' as if there is no truth more true than any other truth.

I'm going to go to church with my best guy friend this Sunday because I'm thinking of converting. It's a Mormon church and I've never been to an LDS church before. Does anyone have any tips on how i should dress or how I should act or anything?

I want to believe in God and heaven for my lost son, who passed away earlier this year. But I find I have difficulty doing so.

Why would God allow him to die if he existed?! My child was only 15 years old. He left behind two siblings (one a twin brother).

If God exists and is merciful like I heard, how can he allow an innocent child to die?!

OK, KINDA LONG BUT I NEED TO KNOW. I WAS WATCHING INTERVEIWS ON TV WITH EXTREMISTS. THIS GUY SAYS TO DIE AS A MARTER IS LIKE A GARUNTEED SPOT IN HEAVEN FOR ALL FAMILY AND FREINDS. HE ALSO SAID THAT HE WOULD GET LIKE 72 WIVES WHEN HE GOT THERE. OK, HERE IS WHERE IT SOUNDS ROTTEN ON MY BEHALF. AND BELEIVE ME I MEAN NO INSULT ,IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE. THERE ARE CASUALTYS IN LEBENAN AND THEY ARE CALLING THEM MARTERS. SINCE THEY ARE MARTERS ARENT THEY IN HEAVEN AND DOESNT THEIR FAMILYS HAVE THE RIGHT TOO NOW ALSO? For example whilst the UK and Sweden both have an official religion people are free to pratice how they like, and minority religous rights are protected..

However in France and Turkey whilst there is no state religion .and all religious symbals are banned from many public area.s..

Does that necessarily meant they are more free?
In England a women has the right protected by law to wear a hijab yet in French girls are not allowed to wear hijabs to school (or any any other religous symbals... In Turkey women in hijab can not go to university or work in a government building...



Is removal of religious symbals really a sign of fredom? Are you offended by a Jewish skull cap (In France they can not wear that to school)?

Or does a truely democratic country mean freedom to practice a religion aswell?

Imagine... You met the perfect person and fell deeply in love with that person and everything about that person fit into your life..That is, except, that were an Athiest or at least did not believe as you religiously.But, you decided that you loved this person enough to overlook that fact and would hope to convert that person as your relationship grew.
As time goes on you have been together for many years.Maybe you have had kids with this person.Maybe not.Maybe you married this person.Maybe you just live together and/or have a domestic partnership status.Your life is happy...BUT, they still won't convert.Is your love strong enough to continue knowing they well never convert?Or would you leave them because your religion comes before love?

Now, I know that many might say, "I would not have started a relationship with that person in the first place"..But for this question...Lets just say you did....Would love prevail or would religion continue to get in the way?
