OK, KINDA LONG BUT I NEED TO KNOW. I WAS WATCHING INTERVEIWS ON TV WITH EXTREMISTS. THIS GUY SAYS TO DIE AS A MARTER IS LIKE A GARUNTEED SPOT IN HEAVEN FOR ALL FAMILY AND FREINDS. HE ALSO SAID THAT HE WOULD GET LIKE 72 WIVES WHEN HE GOT THERE. OK, HERE IS WHERE IT SOUNDS ROTTEN ON MY BEHALF. AND BELEIVE ME I MEAN NO INSULT ,IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE. THERE ARE CASUALTYS IN LEBENAN AND THEY ARE CALLING THEM MARTERS. SINCE THEY ARE MARTERS ARENT THEY IN HEAVEN AND DOESNT THEIR FAMILYS HAVE THE RIGHT TOO NOW ALSO? I AM CATHOLIC BUT I DONT BELEIVE AS SOME CHRISTAINS DO. I AM GUESSING MOST MUSLIMS DONT FALL INTO THIS BELEIF EITHER, I JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW SOME OF YOU FEEL ABOUT IT? If someone says such thing, they are wrong simply because it's God who knows what is going to happen to one when he/she dies.
There are few signs of marters though for example, if a person dies while following God's commands, he/she is a marter.
What is following God's commands? Treat everyone with love, don't lie, don't cheat, fight back when someone attacks you, your land or family.
If any of the situation fits to those people who died in Lebenan then it's save to say they are marters.
The reason why marters are promised for heaven is they suffer more than other normal human beings in this world already.

anyone who dies by killing someone else is just stupid, not a martyr. he doesn't go to heaven or hell. he goes where he belongs, based on what he has done or not done, whether good or evil, without regard to what he thinks he's going to get. he gets what he deserves, no, no less, neither white nor black or anything. just what is his, and only his, and not what someone else says he will get because they neither know, nor can give anything, only the father.
