That man-made story is based on the repayment of a debt (man's sins) with the suffering and death of Jesus (God's son). Who did God owe? I believe that tale is all a bunch of hooey. It took me many decades to realize the junk that was fed to me since childhood. I still believe that God (our creator) exists. I just cannot find any religion that makes any sense.

The Door to living in God's Presence, in fellowship
with Him, was CLOSED when the first Adam was driven
out of the Garden...which ruined it for everyone because man's spirit died...which closed him off from experiencing the spiritual realm. Before this he was perfect and knew God deeply and intimately. God is Spirit.

A second perfect Adam (Jesus Christ) REOPENED the Door so that we could be restored to the original
Relationship.

Through His sacrifice He BOUGHT BACK what was lost. He paid the price. We were dead to God's Spirit, no capacity for God at all. Christ paid the debt of sin that the first Adam put upon us, freeing us to experience a new birth, our spirit coming back to life, so that we could now experience God again. It is the Gift that He offers. He put death to death on the cross, and all those who accept the Gift will never see death. When they leave the body they go to be with the Lord.

So man chooses which Adam he wants to be
joined to...the first one or the second one. Not choosing just leaves you in the first one...outside the open door.

All are welcomed to come back to God through Christ
if they want to. The only thing is, the AGE OF GRACE
is ready to come to a close...which means the Door
will be closing as well. So, don't wait too long. Jesus is the only DOOR to God...the only One who was able to pay the debt of sin and free us.

I do not believe in God which will certainly dictate the direction of my answer. I am fairly sure that approximately 2000 years ago there was a charismatic preacher (possibly named Jesus). He rubbed the Romans up the wrong way and they decided that his punishment would be crucifixion as was very common in those days. They therefore nailed this preacher to a piece of wood and left him to die. He was not the son of God. He was not dying for our sins. He was just a poor bugger with a belief system which was different to that of the ruling elite and they wanted to shut hum up. There have been many deaths like this before and many since. The story that has been built up around this one piece of capital punishment is nothing more than that. A story.

It's the scapegoat tradition.

Ultimately, Jesus Christ was a scapegoat and still is. For those who follow the Christian tradition, he bears their sins. For those who don't follow the Christian tradition, he's the excuse that many Christians use in order to denegrate others. He died for their sins and so it doesn't matter if they sin or not. They believe that he died for them and so they continuously place the burden of their sins on him, while denegrating THEMSELVES by continually stating that they, as humans, are flawed. Some non-Christians also passively accept the scape-goat-ism of Jesus Christ by categorically stating that ALL Christians are in some way or another hypocrites, but rather than blaming ONLY the hypocrite Christians for their own thoughts and actions, they actually point out that Jesus Christ IS their reason for such, which of course, still places the burden of sin ON Jesus Christ.

Once Jesus Christ is removed from the equation of humanity, the burden of action and consequence falls squarely BACK on human shoulders, and like it or not, a whole lot of people are not too comfortable with that.

God sent Jesus his son to teach and enlighten the people. Jesus was the only man without sin and he gave the ultimate sacrifice --his life -- in order to bring salvation to God's children. Imagine if you had a child who was perfect. Your other children were difficult, defiant. You love them all but the perfect child can do one thing to save all the others from a horrible life. That is what Jesus did. He took all the crap that God's children were doing to give us a chance for a good life. It was about love. An innocent giving everything to let the guilty have a chance even though they didn't deserve it.

I believe, hun, so let me try to explain this the best way I can. :-)

From the beginning, when Adam and Eve sinned, there had to be blood shed to pay the price for sin. God is so holy and so pure and cannot look upon sin unless there is blood covering it. Lambs, goats, pigeons, etc. were what they used to (temporarily) cover their sin and, therefore, postpone their judgement.

God saw that this was not good. All humans were sinners and the price we had to pay for our sin would be death; our life! But God, loving us too much, instead, sent His Son, Jesus, to this earth. Jesus was God in flesh. He experienced the things we experience, He felt pain, loss, temptation, etc. BUT even though He was human, like us, He was still God. He was perfect and never sinned and, therefore, His blood was pure. He gave Himself as a sacrifice (instead of some goat or lamb) by being crucified and His perfect blood paid the debt for all mankind. Three days later, He arose from the grave and now lives in everyone who accepts what He did for them at the cross.

By giving Himself, the blood of goats and lambs is not required. Our debt has been pain, all we have to do is believe it and accept it. That is how Jesus saves us. By His death and His Resurrection, we can now have life and be saved. :-)

His teachings have been just a tad misinterpreted along the way. The 'christ consciousness' was reached by many great prophets, including Jesus. It's a state of unconditional loving and thinking that will enable you not to need to be reincarnated again, not a man. The writers/interpretors of the bible took the older 'crucified savior' legends and made the myth of Jesus Christ, but the christ is NOT a man.

if u read the word there was always a blood sacrifice to get to God in the old testement it was animals in the new it became Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ took our place on that cross He who was sinless became all sin all shame. Jesus Christ became the bridge so to speak to God before then only the priests could go directly to God. That's why we can just pray, talk spend time with God. It's thru Jesus Christ.

The reason why we view Christ as compensation for untold numbers of sinful humans is the fact that Adam, a perfect man, willfully gave up his perfect life for in behalf of sin (see the Genesis account). Christ, on the other hand, a perfect man, gave up his perfect life in behelf of righteousness. This also negates the belief that Christ was God or even a god-man. If he were anything more than a perfect man, then his death would have far exceeded the amount he was making up for, therfore, humankind would still be in moral debt.

I would answer this question with a story; There were 2 bothers walking along the highway when suddenly a man with a pistol tried to rub them. When the younger bothers refused to give his belongings the man fired the pistol and older brother shielded his brother from the bullet. His older brother died upon the arrival in the hospital because of his wounds. But before his brother died the younger brother asked; "Why did you save me?" and the older brother said;" Because of love and my obligation to protect you my younger brother."

The Younger brother is Mankind
The Older brother is Jesus
The Rubber is Evil
The Bullet is Sin

Because of his great love Jesus Chris have sacriface his life to save us from sin just like what the older brother did when he save his younger brother.
