We've been around 230 years which is a fair amount of time to make a comparison. Look at now and compare it with that time span (1776-2006). So my question is: American morality-are we in the worst of times or best of times? If not the best of times now, what time period was America's morality heyday?

Don't tell me otherwise I am tired of you stupid religious types telling me your God Loves everybody that he gave his only begotton son that he that believeth in me shall have everlasting life and he that don't will BURN IN HELL-what kind of sheeeet is that-U R ALL COWARDS AFRAID OF BURNING-ooooo-I see that thousands are burning in Bombay-Iraq-and other parts of the world because your GOD is so Loving-ITS REALITY PEOPLE-The earth is being destroyed not by god but by YOU and your stupid ignorance-I can prove two things today because I watched a scientific show about the Creation of the Moon. It was developed when the earth was impacted by another orb as a marble will make an orb of water when it hits a pool-and gravity held it in orbit-LQQK @ the MOON do you see Craters where it has been hit? Well Jesus didn't because their weren't telescopes-you only fear burning in hell or dieing and CAN NOT PROVE GOD EXISTS except to say Have Faith-I have faith in PROOFS-Prey is what predators EAT!

I just love seeing how people’s minds work on different things. It’s funny how you can weed out the real aggressive fighters and the ones that are actually trying to help when you question their faith. I solute those who maintain their cool and continue to try and help and educate, you are true Christians and should be commended for that. I solute those who can also see other points of view. The rest of you who verbally lash out just because someone says something you don’t like, shame on you, that is not very Christian like. How do you like that Judgement.

I cannot reconcile the lavishness of my world with the misery that presses at my gates.
How do I reconcile these feelings and enjoy the bounty at my table?
Should I indulge my impotence by lavishing in my Western guilt or should I reconcile my feelings by taking action and doing something positive to share my wealth?

After all, the Catholic church decided what got to stay in, and what was dismissed. And with all the archeological finds of various manuscripts over hundreds of years, shouldn't these things be taken into consideration?

BASE

B – Believe

You must believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and showed he was God by coming back to life.
-Do you believe that?
-If yes, then you’re one fourth of the way there already.
-A George Gallup poll said that 87 percent of Americans believe this. That’s why Christians celebrate Easter. Do you believe?
-I believe Jesus was who he said he was – God – and he proved it by coming back to life.

A – Accept
-You need to accept God’s free forgiveness for your sin.
Do you agree, "I have sinned, and I need to accept God’s free forgiveness for my sin”?

S – Switch
-Switch to God’s plan for your life. That means you’re going to say, “I’m no longer going to do what I want to do. I'm going to live the plan God made me for. I want to know God’s purpose for life and from now on God’s going to call the shots, not me.

E – Express
Express your desire for Christ to be the director of your life.

“Dear God, I believe you sent your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins so I could be forgiven. I'm sorry for my sins, and I want to live the rest of my life the way you want me to. Please put your Spirit in my life to direct me. Amen.”

This is a solicitation for ex-Christians to testify about their journey from religious bondage to the brilliant light of intellectual free-thought so that we believers may better understand what we are up against.

I am thinking that this actor(us) that dreams nightly and without actual control of where we forage to in our dreams is actually the life force or Soul ( a spark of God) that I think we are. So, I am lending toward the believe that once this "us" cannot return to the physical body for any reason, the end result is death. This "us" which I am surmising is eternal, continues on in another level beyond the vision. If that is the case, this human body is just a cloak for us to "figure" out something while we reside in it. This means animals are in the same category too!

By Quiet times - I mean that I try to have an indepth, meaningful experience with God 2-3 times a week. During those times I pray and study the bible. But I also try to apply the bible - to really think and not just take at face value what I read in the commentary or what I hear at church.
Do you do this? What helps you to think critically on spirituality?
PS you don't have to be a Christian to reply - I'm more interested in THINKING AND SPIRITUALITY.

So God said onto thee, let me give you intellect so that I might make you feel like a fool. What kind of sick joke is that? That's what I do to the people that I love; I constantly mess with their heads, nice.
